I feel like another Jade squash would be met with a shrug more than anything. She’s had a lot of those as it is.
A tag title match would be a better option imo.

This show already looked weak as it is.

You can realistically do both, this is an hour show They really SHOULD do a Youtube Buy In for this too to try and make up the difference, I'd figure they're giving Greensboro a ton of DARK matches as it stands already

This whole week is cursed for AEW it seems More wrestling in general if you factor in the WWE cuts and their own personal injuries (Drew and Sasha) and COVID outbreak.

This whole week is cursed for AEW it seems I mean, they've already had a MOTYC and have gotten a great rating/demo for their first show on TBS so...not really? The whole world is dealing with Omicron at the moment...I'm amazed its taken this long to have a significant effect on AEW tbh- Fenix might diasgree with me on all that tho

If you're going by the rankings the only team with an honest to goodness claim at a title match is the Acclaimed. Acclaimed/JE doesn't feel like a big match to me but they're kind of in a bind.
If they were going to tape a bunch anyway I'm sure they have something they could turn to but this show seems snakebit.

The question is, how much does this rating matter to AEW and Turner? With the way they book, there are a ton of never before seen matches you could hot shot for a match tomorrow. You could have Sting and Darby challenge for the tag titles. I wouldn't do it, but you always have something like that in your back pocket if you need it. So we'll see how much this show really matters to Tony with the replacement we get tonight.

For my money it might be the worst promoted show in the company's history. I would assume they're hoping for a decent number just above or right around Rampage's which is prob better than what they get in that Saturday slot.

I wonder if it was a mistake to schedule this show literally three days after the TBS premier. Because Battle of the Belts should be an important show, but clearly a premier on a new network is even more important. Like this show should have been at the end of the month instead of earlier. But who knows, hopefully they will learn next time and maybe Turner will give them extra time for the next one.

I'm assuming that this was just the timeslot that TNT gave them and was like "work with it," TBH. It's definitely not ideal.

I genuinely wonder how much of it is on AEW and how much on TNT. It really felt like this was a show they were preparing to have two hours for and were ready to build it as a mini PPV, then it came out it was an hour long and it felt like all the wind went out of it They can still make this a good show, but I have to wonder if that's why the Tag Title match was also on Dynamite at the very least, felt like it was gonna be a BOTB match if they had the time to do it...

The tag belts have not had an Open Challenge in awhile, not since FTR let teams like Hybrid 2 get an open shot. I feel like you COULD throw that out there to forgo rankings if you really needed to, to put on a bigger match here Hell, it's in North Carolina, might be a good place to have a shocking debut tag title open challenge match where Jurassic Express say... reach for the sky, boy? You can also just see what Minoru Suzuki is doing, it worked well last time If you're gonna make BOTB feel like a bigger deal even last minute though, I'd do a Buy-In, and maybe do something special there too, have another Undisputed match with like The Sydals and Moriarty or something and give them 15 minutes or Dark Order in the same vein, it'll do wonders.

I will give them the benefit of the doubt in that there was a LOT they had to balance this week. On top of it being the first TBS show, I wouldn't be shocked if Tony also felt like he owed a massive card to Newark given that we were supposed to get Blood and Guts. It's definitely an odd week for them in terms of booking but what I'll also say is that it's the shows with weaker cards for them that end up being bangers, so maybe that'll be the case tomorrow.

I have no doubt they can make it into a good show. It doesn’t have the heat it should, but Im not worried about it’s quality. But yeah, I feel like TNT kind of handicapped them in this case. But it’s the first TV special that isn’t one of the two main shows, so hopefully this isn’t how the special series will go.

I imagine if Tony had a choice, he probably would have wanted this show to happen a few weeks from now so he wouldn't have to balance this and the TBS debut in the same week.

I imagine or hope the future fight nights are more hashed out. I'd fight for two hours (Football's ending soon so what do they lose doing two hours on a Saturday?) but more importantly a normal week yes would probably help go a long way in helping build the card to be more special. Cause on a show called Battle of the Belts you'd think a belt would be changing hands in a shock, but if Cody's out, idk if they're gonna have any other belt holder drop their title, unless Starks vs Dante happens for the FTW out of left field, which... hey that's also fine by me.

I was supposed to be there tomorrow night but just tested positive for Covid today. I was sooooo looking forward to seeing Britt Baker in person finally ( I'm still on the Britt Bandwagon ).
Oh well,There well be other shows. AEW is really good about coming to Charlotte on a consistent basis. I appreciate that about them.

Speaking of Britt, something needs to change with her. It feels like a lot of her hype has died down, and her title reign has stalled for months.
If they won’t let anyone else beat her, then they need to get to the Thunder Rosa feud SOON!!
