So uh yeah Tony Khan isn't going to have the slightest hint of an excuse for any of the issues people have had with the roster by mid next year. Several of the current AEW talent deals expire by May 2022, TK will have to trim the fat with the amount of current free agents. Based on tweets I've seen I think quite a few people just won't be resigned. I believe SRS tweeted something last week where talent said "AEW let's you leave with dignity and don't make a spectacle of releasing you" which gives me the impression there's already talent on the way out

I don't think AEW's ever made any release announcements, even with people like Ivelisse.

Strickland is a must and AEW wanted him in 2019 so that seems like a lock to me The others seem set on keeping the faction alive on the Indies... I might wanna see how they do outside of a WWE environment first tbh. They are all very green outside of Strickland... though Dolla and Francis could probably hold up in the tag division well though. Top Dolla and A.J. Francis are the same person. You mean Top Dolla and Ashante Adonis. Ain't no rule that you can't tag team with yourself wearing a fake mustache.

That's a much better way of handling things. Releases should only be saved for worst case scenarios, like when Kylie Rae had a mental health crisis or Ivelisse being Ivelisse or Jimmy Havoc being a terrible person, not just done left and right because of "budget cuts."
Not renewing a contract is more or less a soft firing, but it's at least a sense of stability and the talent has months, if not years to plan for their post-contract career without worrying about the boss firing them on a whim. They don't have to wrestle with the Sword of Damocles dangling over their head like too many WWE talents do. And unlike with being released from a contract, a contract expiring means they can work for another promotion immediately without any vindictive 90 day non-compete clauses.

What if we combine his names? -Scott "The Killshot" Strickland -"Killing Swerve" Isiah Shane Strickland -"Swerveshot" Shane Scott Strickland So many possibilities! How about Shoot Kill Scotland? “I approve” Queen Elizabeth II, probably.

Lets bump this.
Besides Keith who else could join? Gargano? Joe? Regal? Ember?, also with the Forbidden Door opening again that could mean Takeshita is coming back soon

I’ve said it before, but TK is a damn fool if he doesn’t call Regal to see if he’s interested in a backstage gig. I have no idea if Regal would be interested, but you have to ask Keith Lee is another slam dunk pick, so is Swerve. I’m not a huge Ember Moon fan, but she’d be a smart pick up too

Gargano, Toni Storm, Athena/Ember, Mia Yim, Joe, and Regal to me are must signs if he can get them. Regal absolutely for a possible on screen role but absolutely for the backstage culture I'd also see what Morrison and Taya are wanting to do. But they might see Impact as an easy go back.

I think the only people I'd really be bothering with right now are Keith Lee, Bray, Ember, and Regal. Maaaaybe Morrison or Joe.

Yeah, Joe's a perfect player/coach, and I don't think he was ever hurt, I just think when Vince took over they shelved him again.

Yeah, I wouldn't be shocked if they shelved him but I also think he slowed down a lot during his WWE run. hopefully, the time off helped in that sense.

I think he's back to form or was before he was pulled. I think he has a run left in him worthwhile, and a lot of his best rivalries ever are in AEW.

I think Gargano is incoming, he's said on his streams he's taking a breather for new baby and to heal up from wear and tear (at least some of the time dude was punch drunk in big matches he was legit knocked loopy so he was pretty beat up when he left NXT)
