Definitely the contract signing with Andre for WM III. It's genuinely one of the best bits of TV WWE has ever produced. Absolutely. It's also the moment I realized that while I preferred the NWA, the WWF was actually superior. Contract signings in NWA(Dusty-Flair, Magnum-Nikita) looked like they were being filmed in the teachers lounge at my elementary school. Amateur hour. The WWF handled Hogan-Andre as the huge spectacle it deserved to be.

The "plastic surgery" post World Title loss on the Main Event in 1988 tops if for me.
"HOW MUCH MONEY DID THEY SPEND ON THE PLATIC SURGERY!"
"THEY WERE INDENTICAL! IDENITCALLLLLLLLLLLLLL!"
"LOOK OUT THE SHOULDER BROTHER"
"LOOK AT THE HUNDRED DOLLAR BILLS FALLING OUT OF HIS POCKET!"
The whole thing is hilarious.

The Wrestlemania V promo to me is the quintessential Hogan promo. It really set the stage for that match and gave the backstory of the Mega Powers from Hulk's perspective, but in a more calm way than the one on TV a few weeks before.
I always liked the ending to that one.
"...YOUUU Macho Man, I don't care where you stand. I don't care what you believe in. All I want from you is your best. I want you to be ready. I want the Macho Madness to be at it's peak. Because when Hulkamania Rules, when Hulkmania lives forever, when Hulkamania puts you down on your knees, I want the whole world to realize that I beat you at your best. And at the end of WrestleMania V, I will be the World Wrestling Federation Champion. And whatcha gonna do Macho Man when the whole world of Hulkamania's destroy youuuu!?"

It's a basic answer but Mania 6 is my favourite. He's absolutely magic. "I'm gonna ask you one question, brother. I'm gonna ask you, 'do you want to live forever'?"

Thanks for all the replies guys. Some great ones mentioned. Hogan is underrated at cutting promos. He really did a great job of drawing you into the importance of the match.

Hogan is insanely underrated by the modern wrestling fan. He’s a fantastic in ring worker too. From strictly a pro wrestling point of view, he was the most over/popular/notorious star in this history of the art form.

I have been watching old stuff on the network and even I have forgotten how loud the crowd pops when his music hits or he starts hulking up. It was a different time for sure but Hogan deserves an enormous amount of credit for how big wrestling became around the world.

From strictly a pro wrestling point of view, he was the most over/popular/notorious star in this history of the art form. I think his ring work is what is most underrated. Now, he got extremely lazy from late 1991 on, but prior to that, he was one of the most exciting workers they had. He wasn't the most over wrestler of all time because people thought it was cool that he put his hand to his ear or because he had great promos. He was over because his matches were awesome. They were very different from the NWA workrate classics, but prime Hogan was a wrecking ball in the ring. His style in the 80s was very similar to Steve Austin during his title runs in the 90s. Just 10-15 minutes of pure chaos. And while Hogan is remembered for the Hulk-up sequence that he relied heavily on later in his career, in the 80s his matches had a lot of creative finishes. I think a lot of the criticism of Hogan as a worker come from his rather lazy and unimpressive WCW run and his failings as a person out of the ring. Hogan absolutely deserved his spot in the 80s and early 90s. He was the total package in a way only a few could rival.

He was going out on national television and setting the crowd ablaze.

His Rumble 92 promo was a good one, and in hindsight of what came after, very hypocritical about being cheap shotted by everyone from friends to enemies to Tunney to ending it with his flex pose while rolling his r’s on the word Rumble, made a 6 year old me believe that everyone else stood no chance and the title was coming back to the Hulkster where it belonged

The Piper's Pit where he accepts the challenge to face Andre at Wrestlemania 3. Yeah, easily my favourite promo of his, just the way he sells the cross being ripped off and tossed to the floor and everything makes it.

The one at the Bash when the NWO is formed is great, great heel promo. My favorite line from that one was, "If it weren't for Hulk Hogan, Eric Bischoff would be selling meat from a truck in Minneapolis, brother!"

Yeah, easily my favourite promo of his, just the way he sells the cross being ripped off and tossed to the floor and everything makes it. It really helped that Piper knew his role in it and didn't step on any of it, along with selling the moment by pointing out Hogan was bleeding, seeming rather shocked.

I was a Hulkamaniac before that shit. Yeah I mean not that he's on the same level as Chris Benoit or anything, but I always feel weird seeing people praise Hogan the wrestler knowing what kind of person he is. I get that same feeling for both. "Oh sure he said/did something horrible but let's just talk about what a good wrestler he is". Not that there's anything wrong with other people having that discussion but for me personally it just feels really strange to talk about that way.

I think that he honestly is so irrelevant in modern wrestling that it's just kind of easy for people to carry on sometimes as if he has died. I will say I'm glad people have kind of moved past the defense of his having said the N-word as if that's the worst part of that conversation. Yeah, it's absolutely awful, but the whole context of why he said it, not wanting black people in his gene pool, cranked up the racism of the whole event a couple of notches, to say the least.
