What AEW storylines were dropped or never spoken of again? Cody and Pentagon appearing to have a feud which only lasted like 2 weeks i think that was always supposed to be a one off Cody beat Penta and that was that

Did Paul Wight ever get revenge on Billy Gunn and his sons for their attack back in September?

Did Paul Wight ever get revenge on Billy Gunn and his sons for their attack back in September? He has not, although he's continued to grouse about them a lot on commentary.

I wonder if it was dropped after the QT match, cause Big Show looked like he was having a real hard time there, especially with his legs.

They had a segment with Brandi going through therapy to address her demons, and that was the end of that IRL they just listened to the negative feedback the angle was getting and decided to drop it

They kiiinda resolved the "QT simps for the Bunny" storyline, insofar as QT had a falling out with the Nightmare Family largely because of it, and Bunny cut a couple of promos about how she was buying herself gifts with QT's credit card and whatnot, but there was never really the moment of Blade showing up and killing QT, and QT was cutting promos about his "lovely wife" like three weeks later. And the Bunny fell back in with Butcher and Blade as if nothing ever happened (and there was never really much payoff too B&B trying to weasel in and gain intel on the Nightmare Family). I think that whole schmozz definitely qualifies.

I think that whole schmozz definitely qualifies. There was absolutely a huge bloody match between Butcher & Blade and QT and Dustin. Granted, it was not a very satisfying payoff for the story told, but it did lead to a match. Says a lot that basically nobody talks about it even if it was a fine match.

Yeah, I actually really enjoyed that Bunkhouse Match. It's just that it ultimately barely even had anything to do with the QT/Allie story, and there was a clear story thread that Allie was trying to "gather intel" on the Nightmare Family in her relationship with QT that never really had any payoff. If I remember correctly the romantic angle with Allie was in the summer and ended in like June or July, and then that Bunkhouse Match just kind of happened more or less out of nowhere in, like, November with an oblique reference to "QT has history with the Bunny," but not much more than that.

QT had to take some time off for COVID at a critical juncture, IIRC? Which explains why the timing was so awkward.

I guess that was more of a storyline that they made every effort not to drop, but ultimately were left without much of a choice.

Frankie Kazarian talking to Jurassic Express after The Elite has been defeated I mean, Gallows and Anderson went somewhere, maybe he murdered them? Truly, Kazarian is the greatest hero.

Just about any reference to Cody ever being part of The Elite. Aside from Cody acknowledging the EVPs during his fauxtirement speech, it's almost been WWE levels of 'just forget about it, it's not relevant to any story we're telling or plan on telling.'

This is one of the weirder ones. Cody even had a meta comment of "Am I even still in the Elite?" at one point. Then the first Blood and Guts was booked with him in it, and then...never the twain have met again. Makes me wonder if Blood and Guts was supposed to be a big, nasty breakup, they didn't want to do that early in COVID times, and then we got what we've gotten.

I think that whole schmozz definitely qualifies. Eh, they did have Eddie Kingston tell the Blade to get his personal affairs in order and was absolutely referring to the Bunny (I don't recall if he outright said her or just figured we would connect the dots). It didn't exactly build to anything with enough connective tissue, though.

AEW thinks I forgot the promo OC and Best Friends cut on the Dynamite after DoN telling Kenny he had him beat and “if you think it’s over, it’s not” but I never did. I am convinced they were planning to do an OC/Kenny singles match because they immediately had OC get more wins and climb up the rankings again, but then killed it, probably because they signed Bryan and decided he was the better feud. OC hit #1 right after All Out. Now he’s off the rankings completely. It’s a bummer.
Maybe when Kenny comes back we’ll see that match.

Personally I think they dropped it once the extent of Kenny's injuries became apparent. After Double or Nothing they substantially reduced his schedule.

The infamous Dark Order beat down that closed the final Dynamite of 2019.
And we're all better off for it.

The infamous Dark Order beat down that closed the final Dynamite of 2019. And we're all better off for it. I mean in a way they explained that by murdering the air punch guy on air. They were moved down the card but they still had matches and feuds following the beatdown as they built towards the reveal of the Exalted One. The direction likely changed but I still remember it making sense.
