Orton and Cena having a Rock/Austin-esque staredown in the Royal Rumble match to absolutely zero reaction. This so much. They did that spot 2 times, and tried at least one other, no one gave a damn. I'm not a hater of either men or anything, but that's one of the few times that I went "you know what? Good!" What made it even worse was that Cena and Kofi had a stare down in the same match and that got a major reaction.

That could have worked, if they booked the match last Brock vs Cena earlier that year. Brock murdered Cena to the point where Chicago, freaking Chicago, started cheering for Cena. Brock was booked as the uncaring unstoppable sick monster, and it got people to sympathize with Cena. It was Superman going against Doomsday and being completely overmatched, fans wondered "Wait, if Cena can't stop him, who can" easy story to tell. But when they did Triple H vs Brock, Trips got in way too much offense and stood toe to toe with him. In that case, fans are gonna cheer for the actual asskicker. Plus Triple H is just a terrible babyface in general. He's never vulnerable or likeable and he never garners any sympathy. The last time face Triple H worked was when he had just returned from the quad tear in 2002. Then that whole feud with Jericho over a dog happened.

That was done in such poor taste.

About 98.5% of the times when a wrestler points to the WrestleMania sign.
Also, the Nattie-Lacy match in Saudi Arabia. HISTORIC! Did we mention it's HISTORIC?! HISTORY! THEY'RE MAKING HISTORY! (Please ignore how they've been forced to cover their tempting jezebel skin, thereby underscoring the disturbing women's rights problems in this dangerous country we've sold our soul to do business with.) This is HISTORIC HISTORY!

Eric Young winning the TNA World Title out of nowhere in a similar fashion to Daniel Bryan, just a few days after Bryan won the title at Wrestlemania 30. But Eric had the beard first, you meanies! /Dixie Carter

Whenever he's a face, he's always booked as the "coolest, smartest, funniest, most awesome, badass in the world". So, when someone who's even more of a badass, kicks his ass, that type of character isn't gonna garner any sympathy. Hmmmm......I mean, naturally I would agree with you, but I did think Trips was pretty vulnerable in his feud with Benoit in September/October 2000 that had Trips being the face. I would also argue that he was pretty likeable when he was stacked up in his feud with Kurt Angle around the same time. While dated AF now, I laughed heartily at The Game making fun of Angle about him crying at the 1996 Olympics. I would consider the beginning of Triple H's face turn after Summerslam 2000. It's a shame they ruined that build with that stupid Austin storyline reveal. I should've been more specific...I was more referring to 2006 & onwards.

Undertaker being afraid of Triple H before their Hell in a Cell Wrestlemania match. It was the other way around. Trips was afraid of Taker and made excuses why he shouldn’t face him.

Oh, I'd say Cody setting himself on fire is a brand-new qualifier. That wouldn't even be in the top 5 of forced Cody moments. Losing one match on TV and out of nowhere cutting a teary promo implying he was retiring then leaving his boots in the ring. Leaving a ladder match early so he could return at the end with the big dramatic babyface comeback spot only to be booed out the arena. That period when he was coming to the ring for random TV matches with an entourage of 20 people. That race/US V UK promo plus main event style press conference/weigh in segments wasted on the terrible Ogogo feud. And of course: ![https://media.comicbook.com/2019/05/cody-rhodes-ricky-havlik-1172790.jpeg](https://media.comicbook.com/2019/05/cody-rhodes-ricky-havlik-1172790.jpeg)

I feel the Wrestlemania 35 main event could count. Well the fact that a women’s match was maineventing Wrestlemania was awesome the crowd was beyond dead by that point. Add in the weirdness of the botched finish and it made what should have been an awesome moment just feel forced and not real.

Not a moment but the whole summer of 1993 with the Lex Express Luger face push.

No, they made a big deal about Undertaker looking vulnerable after their close match at the Wrestlemania before. Undertaker was never afraid though. He was the complete opposite. He spent a month goading Triple H into accepting the rematch. Triple H was the one showing doubt. The whole implication was that Triple H knew he couldn't beat him and was playing it cool, declining the rematch because he was fine with the moral victory of "standing tall" the previous year when Undertaker had to be stetchered out, despite losing the match.

Trying to make bald, brown teeth Snitsky a thing. I remember one Raw where Vince announced him as Cena's mystery opponent and you could hear a pin drop in the arena.

Well in that case, yes, I absolutely agree with you on that. Wasn't that around the time he was feuding with Umaga? I caught some random episode in passing where Trips magically produced a sledgehammer and hit Umaga with it and won, even though Umaga was dominating the entire match. I had already stopped watching WWE for years at that point, but yeah, that always struck me as weird. Then the stories about Triple H not wanting to look weak on promotional material and video games. Sorry for the confusion. I wholeheartedly apologize.

Any time anyone points at that damn Wrestlemania sign. Why is that sign there in the first place? Is it like the bat-signal? Why point to it instead of using words? Why does pointing to a sign make something officially sanctioned? The whole bit is so forced & convoluted, & yet they do it over, and over...

Every single time the WWE has ever tried to be funny, ever. They do not have a tendency to gracefully and naturally set up their punchlines.

The ring has been overtaken by Bryan fans.
And somehow they all have brand spanking new Bryan t shirts that are all the same. What a natural moment.
