That did surprise me. Maybe they just want to get Rocky on the show and felt this was the best option, or maybe they want to go with a bit of intrigue, one of Eagles' CHAOS comrades coming for his belt. I'd wonder if they were displeased with Wato due to his mediocre performances early in 2021, but he definitely seems to be doing better now, and they did give him a decent number of wins in the BOSJ tournament, so I would assume that meant he was in NJPW's good graces. In NJPW that is damn near the kiss of doom to start improving after they spent a good amount of time pushing you That f***ed up both YOSHI HASHI and Goto but each have been able to rebound and Goto has had a very solid underrated career while YOSHI HASHI is finally getting his due Yeah, I actually rather enjoy YOSHI-HASHI these days. It was only, what, two years ago or something when he was the laughingstock of the company? Like, I remember someone IN NJPW joking that he should be sent on an excursion to Siberia. He wasn't Captain New Japan-levels of mocked, but he wasn't far off. He put in the work, though, and genuinely helped raise the stock of the NEVER 6-Man titles because he treated winning them as a big deal, and busted his ass. I imagine he didn't want to be seen anymore as someone who really only got to be in CHAOS because he's Okada's friend, and now, I think he's fairly vindicated.

In my opinion, what they doing with Goto and YOSHI-HASHI they should did with him and Okada instead when Okada wasn't champ But I get it, they built up YOSHI-HASHI a very the year long NEVER title reign while also having solid performances and it looks like he will be rewarded with a tag title reign He was the little buddy for a very long time in CHAOS but he no doubt has showed himself to be a member worthy of CHAOS (well at least when being in CHAOS meant something)

No New Year's Dash it seems In theory Night 3 should just been NYD instead of making WK a 3 day event

Now, though, he's had the accomplished 6-Man title reign and won the tag league with Goto. Honestly wouldn't even be that surprised if Goto and YOSHI-HASHI successfully challenge for the belts, though I'd still figure they likely don't succeed. It's a bit of a shame, since Okada really has done virtually nothing but hover around the world title for many years now, and while I honestly don't mind that nearly as much as I used to, this would have been pretty different for him and brought some appreciated variety.

I’m going to make a bold prediction.
Because I think Okada will walk away from the first 2 nights as champion, I predict he’ll take the fall in the tag match on night 3. Setting up a big match with either Kaito or Mutoh for the IWGP. They won’t win the title but, just having them pin Okada and challenge for the strap would be monumental.
Who gets the pin will entirely depend on what NOAH and New Japan consider to be the biggest possible match.

I can see this happening Mutoh vs Okada and didn't Mutoh throw out there he wanted one more shot at the title/face Okada? Either way I think Okada walks out champ. They have crowned 4 first time champions since Okada was champ in 2019 with Evil, Ospreay, Takagi and Ibushi. Ospreay can get a run later in the summer but I still think they got eyes on another Ibushi run. I do think the pandemic has gotten in the way of them giving Jay White a run which has been beneficial for Will

I still think Okada was supposed to lose to Kota. His reaction seemed to be half concern, half "uh.... shit?"

What’s the reasoning behind Wrestle Kingdom Night 3 not being shown on New Japan World?

What’s the reasoning behind Wrestle Kingdom Night 3 not being shown on New Japan World? Most likely one of the caveats of the NOAH collaboration is that it's to be shown live through the ABEMA PPV service (which is owned by CyberAgent, NOAH's owner). It will likely get to NJPW World a week later though.

I'm just going to randomly say something here.
Caveat: I don't actually watch New Japan, just keep track via Cagematch, so my opinion is pretty much worthless but
I still like EVIL tbh? I just think he's being used kinda poorly? But I don't think he's inherently bad?

I think he'd be a lot better off if they didn't try forcing him into the 30 minute main event match format that he's clearly not cut out for right now. Plus being hindered by basically every match he's had recently turning into "surprise, shitty stable interference alert"

He's not a 30 minute main event guy, and the stable interference stuff does him no favors.

Evil does not have the stamina or cardio to do 30+ matches. Nor was his style he had before fit for what Togo wants
