My wife had police guarding her because of ongoing death threats. (hooray American politics)
Been a rough year.

B+. A few things could have gone a little better but they were miles better than my last 2 years I can no doubt say that.

Would have been a B+,then a few months back a close friend of the family died. Only death so far for me from the virus.
But lost 10lbs,I'm 10lbs off what I want to weigh. Been trying to get down to 200.
Got a few projects done. Got to goto way more shows than I figured I would.

It's a mixed bag. My wife worked both in 2020 and 2021 as a travel nurse during the pandemic, so for once in our lives money truly isn't an issue. We've both had health things pop up though.
Oh, and I found out that I simply cannot abide even more people than previously thought. I'm exposed daily to the Ugly American stereotype and I hates it SOOOOOOOOOOO much. It would be even worse if I still lived in the town I grew up in.

Of all the years I've experienced, it is certainly the most recent.
Well documented on this forum was my mother's brain hemorrhage in January but she is doing pretty well now. She wants to go back to her doctors and see what else can be done to improve her short term memory and her lingering shoulder issues from the fall that started all of this.
Things have gotten somewhat back to normal for me as most everyone I know is vaccinated and I've adopted the Ivan Drago approach to unvaccinated people. Obviously, omicron is somewhat concerning but appears to be somewhat protected from my vaccine booster and all that. My anxiety over that is not even 10 percent of what it was three weeks ago.
I've gotten a sizeable raise at work and then another mid year adjustment last month due to inflation, so that was nice. My investments and playing around with crypto has gone very well. We finally hired two more engineers at work after the two other Senior Engineers and I more or less said if we don't get help, all of us are going to actively start looking for new jobs (it was a bluff but it worked).
I've started to renew my acquaintance with an old friend of the female persuasion in the past month and we'll see how that goes.
Overall, I'd give it a D. It would be a B if not for my mother's problems.

Professionally I've been on a roll. Promoted to Juniour supervisor in late 2019 then full supervisor about a year later and I feel that I've really got a handle on things. However, I'm working nights and my work week is about 55-60 hours over 5 days, so I'm usually exhausted and don't get to spend much time with friends or family whether online or in person. The upside is that even though I'm salary they pay me overtime on anything over 45 hours. Also, we're short juniour supervisors so for 2 months out of 3 I'm solo which is a lot.
That said, it's not sustainable and eventually I need to move to another shift (less overtime, better schedule) or move to another job. I rarely have energy for even basic things because of the hours I keep. So in one sense it's been a great year, in another sense, not so much.

For the world in general it seemed to be about a D+, so I feel kinda guilty that my year personally was about a B.

Not a bad year, actually. I got back into doing writing for my local paper here and there. Not as a job, but just something to help me get back to doing other forms of writing, as well as photography.
I also had gotten back to going to the movie theaters more and I had gone a pretty good amount of times since they had reopened. I had also gone to local wrestling shows. So I would say it was a decent year.

It was good.
It was a huge year professionally for my wife and I’m very proud of her.
As for me, I adore working at home. Yes, I obviously miss the camaraderie of the office, but my new routine has done wonders for my mental health.
Also, I bought an espresso machine. Holy shit, what a great idea that was.

A B+
Ridded myself of my toxic job, and got a new one that pays me more with much less stress. It's also something I actually enjoy doing, being in the food and drink industry.
I have a fun, attractive friend with benefits. Never believed in it before but it's worked out well. Been a fun 2021 😁
What makes it not an A + im going into the end of the year knowing I'm probably going to have to do layoffs soon because of a certain virus rearing its ugly head. Were possibly going to be just us managers and strictly takeout for a bit sadly soon.
