Dolph Lundgren to play King Greyskull! I'd like him to play He-Ro or one of the champions at least. I think if the King appears he'll be black like he was in Revelation.

I've been hearing "new Masters of the Universe movie starts filming soon" for over 30 years.
I'll believe this movie is happening when I see a trailer. And, even then, I'll still be suspicious.

This is going over just as you'd expect. How soon we forget that CGI does wonders, like when a certain Dr. Banner gets angry?

Dolph Lundgren for Mighty Spector in a troll move, or failing that, Tri-clops.

Today is Mattel's virtual analyst presentation. According to He-Man.org sources, they'll be talking a bit about the movie. It kicks off at 10 AM.

So like the old cartoon. This could be really good. Or really bad.

So instead of just letting MOTU be MOTU, it has to be like MCU movies. I love the MCU, but other movies don't have to have that tone. Everything now is trying to be too lighthearted or too dark and serious. Just let stuff be what it is.

Vintage, She-Ra, New Adventures, 2002, Origins, and 2021. I am a fan. It was a kids show. A badly animated very simply plotted kids show. And it has been reinvented as a show 4 times. He-Man is an ideal property for an MCU style PG to PG13 movie.

The very first toy I ever got that wasn't a stuffed animal was a Skeletor action figure I had to have when I was 2 in 1983. I don't collect the figures anymore, but have always followed the franchise. I absolutely agree that it should be PG or PG-13. An R rated He-Man means you're doing it wrong. To specifically state that the vibe you are going for is Thor (a blonde buff superhero that LOOKS similar to He-Man even if they otherwise aren't that similar) is trying to make it something that its not. The 1982 series didn't feel like the MCU. It felt like MOTU. She Ra didn't feel like the MCU. It felt like MOTU with more female characters. The 1987 movie still kinda felt like MOTU, even though they admit they were ripping off New Gods (which even itself feels different than Kirby's Marvel stuff) New Adventures of He-Man didn't feel like the MCU. MOTU 2002 didnt. The DC Comics of recent years didnt. And so forth. I'm not saying it can't be fun. I'm just saying give it its own feel. MOTU has this awesome medieval meets sci-fi vibe. It can be LOTR with laser guns and shit or something and still be fun.

It can be LOTR with laser guns and shit or something and still be fun. Every MOTU media has been chasing a trend. And every one has basically been a toy commercial. The first was a super sanitized kids show. The movie was trying hard to rip off Star Wars and 80s sci fi. New Adventures was like Voltron or Battle of the Planets, a space sci fi show. 2000x was Anime inspired. Revelations and the new CGI are modern takes on the concept. He-Man has been reinvented so many times since those original mini comics. There very few sacred cows to the franchise.
