First one that comes to mind is Shawn Michaels post 1996 face run. Seems like everytime they hit San Antonio, his alignment was as a babyface.
Did this happen with other superstars?

Bret in Calgary. Even when he was a heel in the early days, him and Neidhart would get massive cheers from their Stampede days.

Did Flair always get insane love in Charlotte even when he was a heel, or was that only from the mid-90s on?

Kurt Angle in Pittsburgh. Even if he'd manage to throw out an insult that got booed, they'd go right back to cheering him.

MJF in Long Island and Jacques Rougeau in Canada...enough for him to get a clean pinfall over Hogan in his hometown

Kidman got massive reactions in Bethlehem, a sister city of Allentown, regardless of alignment.

There was an episode of Raw in Chicago in 2010 where he was a heel, I remember he cut a promo saying how much he loved the city but hated the people.

She may have been a heel but I can't remember Trish Stratus ever being bood in Toronto. Yet I'm pretty sure Edge was a face the time Toronto bood the shit out him.

Any time they toured the UK, any British heels had to pull out every trick in the book to get the fans to boo them, and now they realize that’s not going to happen, so they always do the face for a night/week.
A notable exception seemed to be Magnus in TNA.

Always loved seeing Regal being the biggest scumbag he could possibly be and receiving rapturous cheers for it.

Sid in New York, only Sid isn't from New York. Sid vs. Shawn at Survivor Series 1996 is kind of a low key example of a Bizarro World deal, with MSG being one of the first "smart" crowds.
