Ben Carter was unsigned but had some prominence in AEW before going to NXT UK.

Bea Priestley is the best example I would say. She was actually relatively featured on early AEW television and made the jump to WWE.

Bea Priestly is the only prominent one and even then she wasn't contracted with AEW when she went to WWE.
The only other ones are Elayna Black & Tesha Price who were unsigned jobbers.

I mean a lot of people think it would be stupid to jump from AEW to WWE and rightfully so as WWE doesn't have a great track record of utilizing people and the job security is much worse. However those two ladies are instances where going to WWE really benefitted them as both are integral parts of the NXT division while if they were in AEW they would both surely be afterthoughts.

AEW hasn’t been inclined to release talent and I assume not many wrestlers have had their contracts expire yet since the company is so young. There will probably be some free agents in 2022.

Mercedes Martinez showed up at the first AEW PPV and then jumped to WWE.

Yeah, Tony Khan has said that he would prefer to let peoples' contracts lapse with dignity, and that he is unlikely re-sign everyone, so there will probably be a few that jump. So far, probably the most significant person to leave that route is Big Swole, who said it was a mutual decision, so yeah, hard to tell what happens. They've let a few other people go, too, though some like Jimmy Havoc were for disciplinary reasons.

Yeah, there really hasn't been a huge free agent who has chosen to leave AEW for WWE. Most of the time it's a short contract or AEW Dark stint leading to WWE taking notice of a talent.

I liked Tesha Price on Dark, I'm glad she got signed. She had her 1st match recently on 205 Live, had a good outing!

Tino Sabbetelli got cut from WWE, went to AEW to have a DARK match, leaked AEW Taping spoilers, and then got re-hired by WWE... to then be cut again a few months later.
Impressive way to really screw yourself and burn bridges really lol

Brian Cage might be the first big name to jump ship.

Yeah, Sabby was not mentioned by name, but it was said it was a former WWE talent brought in as an extra that leaked the tweets at that taping, Sabby was the only one who fit the bill, I don't think he even made an appearance after being re-signed either

There will be some contracts that expire this year in AEW. That's inevitable. But it seems like Tony has been extending folks he really values like the Bucks, Darby, and Britt and I imagine he's done that with everyone else high on the card. I can see some of the original mid to lower card guys sign not being renewed. Maybe a Joey Janela or a Jack Evans type guy (just speculating). I also imagine some of the original roster signed contracts that might have been above their market value given AEW was desperate for bodies to fill the roster and WWE was in a signing spree. So if I'm Tony, I might look to either restructure those deals or at least question if they're worth it at this point given your depth and the abundance of talent on the free agent market. So the real question will be - will AEW keep some of their original lower card talent that hasn't moved up the card? Will their pay/contracts be adjusted? And if they aren't renewed, what will the free agent market look like for those guys? Will WWE bring in guys like Evans and Janela even though they're not what they're looking for? What kind of money will they offer if they do? It's going to be an interesting market for talent next year (although one that probably favors management more than it has in the past few years).
