Mom's side: my aunt, a colossal parasite whose been living in a cottage on my mom's property for the last 2 years and with various other family before that, always rent free. She emotionally blackmails everyone whose afraid she'll end up homeless because she refuses to get a job. She's burnt her bridges with literally everyone else. She's also obscenely unpleasant and goes out of her way to antagonize everyone whenever she's at a family gathering. Basically knows my mom is too nice to let her go live under a bridge with the other trolls and exploits that fact for all it's worth. And yes, before anyone asks, I've told my mom to kick her out several times. She also does nothing to take care of herself, spends money she should be spending on food on cigarettes and the cottage is now a pig stye. The only thing that makes her tolerable is that she stays in her hole when I come to visit. And this is all after verbally abusing me for years and calling me a sponge for paying my mom rent to live at her house while I went back to school and then looked for a job I could actually support myself on. She's basically the worst person I know and if she dropped dead tomorrow I wouldn't mourn her at all.

Dad's side: my cousin the miserable alcoholic who still lives with his parents while pushing forty even though he can easily afford his own apartment. In fairness to him, my aunt and uncle enable him and buy him more booze whenever he's depressed (which is all the time) because theyve given up on reaching him. Oh and he also got blackout drunk and nearly strangled his sister to death one Christmas.

It's me.

I'm the only Jewish person in my family that lives in the area, I'm bipolar, I live with my mom, my nieces and nephews treat me like I'm the "weird" uncle (I must stress not the pervy uncle lol), I'm divorced with no kids even though I was married for 11 years, and my wife was an alcoholic mess, I'm a janitor and I'm all into it like I think it's a cool job,.and I'm the only metal head in the family.

My immediate family is a mess. My brother went full ***** and wont talk to my mother and stepfather anymore. My step sisters wont talk to then either but for other reasons more selfish on their part. They all live 5 hours away. So of the kids my wife and I are the only kids they have around. And we are moving to Illinois soon.

I am the black sheep on my dads side of the family. They are all from a racist backwoods area and never left. My dad went to college and grew as a person. They embrace the ignorance and hate. So by me being open minded, educated, and having no time for their BS I am the black sheep and fine with that.

I love my family more than anything, but they love being mad and arguing over things/talking politics. I won't do any of that, so I'm just sort of 'there' at every gathering.

I'd say me and my father are. Without going into too much detail, I'll just give an example, my dad's sisters drove up to Oklahoma to get his sick drug addict POS brother(who stole my grandpa's car to drive up there in the first place) and bring him home. Meanwhile, they can't even drive across town to visit my dad when he had a stroke several years ago.

From my mother's side, parasite cousin! Incredibly unpleasant, moved in on my crazy aunt with her three kids and her equally unpleasant mother for "a few months" which turned out to be years, never wanted to pay rent, never wanted to get a job, emotionally blackmailed crazy aunt's daughter, moved her son's now-wife in without so much as a by your leave, had to be forced out, still left one of her kids there and tried to leave another while taking his social security check with her which is a huge no-no. Also tried to scam gofundme on a number of occasions along with her daughter, has prob'ly defrauded the government at least once, and has a track record of animal abuse.

Then there's her brother, the pedophile who chose to run rather than go to jail. This was a long time ago, nobody's heard from him since, wouldn't be shocked if he'd been killed somewhere along the line.

Third is a relative on my father's side, I'm not sure the exact relation but I guess he's an uncle or something? He's an unpleasant jackass who's word idiot brother takes as utter gospel. Rest of the family can't stand him.

I've been told I have a half-brother who's a drug addict, never met him so I have no idea.

One great thing that came from the pandemic, for me anyway, is that now I can cut people from my life easier. If I cut them out because they are racist ***** cultists, well my grandmother is upset because I'm letting politics get in the way of family. They wont get vaccinated? For years it was me on both sides.Dad's side is packed with openly racist pastors and crap like that. MOm's side is packed with just straight up dumbasses.

Then a few years ago a cousin on Dad's side came out of the closet and got married to his husband at Disney world. So a good chunk of that side of the family now refuses to talk to him.

On Mom's side my one cousin has become the black sheep. Mostly cause out of nowhere she married a guy that is in jail for at least 10 years. He had gotten out on parole. Then got busted trying to sell an undercover cop drugs and had a gun on him.

To me being the black sheep is going against the majority whether it be political , religious whatever reason and belief and getting ostrisized and singled out because of it.

So that is most definetly me.
