Solid number overall. Looks like they finally solidified their audience after the switch on the west coast. While a switch to another network typically hurts a show, they should be set up for success next week. They're in primetime nationwide, have a better lead in, and have a loaded card. And unlike some previous switches other shows have gone through (like RAW leaving USA for Spike), they're staying within the same family of networks so they're going to receive a ton of promotion for it (and already have). And plus, every cable station I've ever used literally has TBS and TNT right next to each other. It should be an easy switch. except TBS is probably worse for a lead in than TNT was From the numbers I've seen, TBS usually has a stronger lead in with something like a Big Bang Theory rerun than one of the movies on TNT.

Yeah, and BBT still does strong ratings or demos even now so it makes for a more consistent lead in than “Whatever cheap movie from Warner’s archives we can fill time with before Dynamite. Or The Accountant, it’s usually that”.

Canada here so Dynamite's not on TNT for me but uh is it really The Accountant that often? Is this meme or is it that dire?

Much better than the usually mediocre movies TNT tends to lead in with like The Accountant or Ready Player One.

Much better than the usually mediocre movies TNT tends to lead in with like The Accountant or Ready Player One. Exactly, they get like... 2 million viewers sometimes, and usually over a million. Theyre a really good lead in compared to The Accountant...

I will miss when Central Intelligence is the lead-in/follow-up though. Nothing like finishing Dynamite and rolling right into bad CGI fat Rock.

There have also been a few times "Oh Mickey!" has lead us into a Dynamite thanks to The Meg's ending

Looks like those undisputed era guys still draw Imagine telling someone when the year started that "The OG Undisputed Era are all going to defect and reunite on AEW to close out 2022, while NXT moves off Wednesday, the "war" ends, and it becomes a completely different brand that focuses on a ton of super green talent", I imagine some heads would spin lmfao.

AEW showed up on TNT with really modest expectations and blew way past anything Warner folks thought they were going to get, and they leave the channel only to move to the sister channel with praise heaped on from the corporate side and tons of leverage. There was a period during the TNA embarrassment years where Meltzer had said that the fiasco was hurting the esteem of non-WWE wrestling in the industry's eyes because this was what people already thought of pro wrestling and it was just confirming that it's this bad a hick clown show. It's a huge relief to see that a company has broken through that perception and is doing such good work now. Results over the last six months have me thinking that Turner execs have to be at least considering "are we maybe not investing enough here?"

Looks like those undisputed era guys still draw I have to say, although I am not a fan of them just reforming UE in AEW, the fact that a WWE created stabled is being used to draw fans to a non WWE show like this is pretty sweet given how much WWE tries to prevent exactly that being possible.

I wouldn’t really call UE a WWE created stable considering they just aped the same sort of stories ROH and PWG were doing with them years before by starting the whole thing from scratch. Like, the name would be the only thing I’d give credit for.

How many of the fans being drawn to AEW as a result of the UE being there are going to be lapsed ROH and PWG viewers rather than people who saw them on NXT, though?

That’s fair but in turn I could say that the reason Cole, Fish and O’Reilly were signed to WWE and put together ASAP in the first place was to get that ROH/NJPW/PWG fan that had seen all the times they were a faction and feuded together. Which was basically 95% of NXT’s signings at one point.

The Showbuzz daily charts don’t put reruns on there but if they did, Big Bang would rank very high on the list.
