Yeah, I’m also uncomfortable with people writing off what Hobbs and others say as PR not written by them. It immediately writes off the very real possibility that it’s how he feels. If that’s the case, it shouldn’t be surprising. Big Swole and Hobbs can still be totally right. Imagine if you’re Hobbs and you sit down and write out your nuanced, real feelings about an issue you care about in your job. Some people’s immediate reaction is that you couldn’t have written it and/or that you allowed your name to be slapped on something you don’t agree with. Every variation of it is insulting to him. Yeah but… this is what happens when people speak out during a PR nightmare. When you write out your nuanced, real feelings and the sole intention is DAMAGE CONTROL FOR YOUR BILLIONAIRE BOSS, you are asking for cynical people to question it. It is what it is. If Hobbs would’ve written this at literally any other time, Tony would be hailed as the king of wrestling. But it’s been said in response to Tony being a stupid f***ing asshole.

The longer he's got that Tweet up the more he looks like a clown to me. I'll give him until the end of Dynamite. If it's still up and he hasn't apologized then yeah he'll forever be a clown in my eyes. Don't care how important to you this show is, we're talking about something else and if you know you did wrong, you do what's right. It just feels like he's so stubborn he'll wait until things die down before he removes it. Ruby Soho On Big Swole And Tony Khan: “I can only speak from my personal perspective,” she said. “My personal perspective and my experience has showed me with Tony (Khan), Tony giving me a lot of creative freedom to be able to be the exact person that I want to be and to represent myself, the exact way that I want to be represented." “That’s really all I can speak to, and that’s the experience that I have,” Ruby added. “Having the creative freedom that I was not granted before and to be trusted. I’m grateful for that and that’s something as a performer that I do not take for granted by any means.
That needs to be the defacto answer people give when they speak on this stuff and Tony. Ruby just said "I'll let you know what happened with me and that's it."

Turns out Wrestling inc tried to setup Ruby? Because this is different compared to what they reported on their site...

Something I meant to talk about yesterday that's really been bugging me is ever since this happened I'm seeing a loooot of people in different places talk about Big Swole like she's an all-time terrible talent, like just dismissing her as utterly worthless, and that seems 1), like a completely unfair assessment, and 2), like an opinion that's only sprung up since Tony Khan said what he did.
Like, Big Swole isn't great, I don't think I'd even say she's particularly good, but it does really feel like the shitty thing he said has been morphed by a subsection of people into her being one of the worst wrestlers on the planet and that's a huge disservice to her.

There was a section of people who regarded her that way...who are the main reason I never watch Dark with live chat displayed. (And yes, there is a lot of racism that seems to correlate with the opinion, which is why it was enough for me to never look back.) That said, in comparing her to Jade...you can't tell me that Jade and Anna Jay are TV ready and Swole isn't, especially not when Swole had a very solid 2021 in ring to bounce back from some bad matches in 2020. And I have no problem with either Jade or Anna! But I have an issue when it feels like AEW doesn't mind weaker wrestling as long as it's their homegrown people.

I would say that Anna Jay is definitely more ready than Swole both are alsor rookies that seem to be improving more each week.Swole not so much

Swole spoiling the winner on twitter also added why Khan soured on her imo, wasn that the main reason why Tessa got fired from WWE in 2017?(leaking the MYC results)?

I’m going to go ahead and lock this discussion for now because a) Swole and Jade seem good regardless from recent Twitter stuff and b) this thing is going to go in circles and likely go down some paths I’m not comfortable with (whose ready or not etc) if it continues. If something new happens with it, we’ll unlock and put it here.
I will say this, since it’s likely people from AEW come here or at least have ghost reps…
Hey TK, eJm here.
Just apologize, dude. Send Swole a message or a voice message if she has WhatsApp or something. Say you did that on Twitter and don’t @ her like a goober. If she never replies to you again, no problem, just as long as you do something. People are getting involved that really shouldn’t be.
Forget all the diversity and representation stuff, put that aside. Just do it because it’d be the right thing to do.

And I guess we can consider the matter closed for the time being, unfortunately.
Again, if more happens, I’ll unlock it but doesn’t seem like things will.
