I think it's just a diversion, reminded me of the Flair/Steamboat match at Wrestlewar 89 where they had judges but didn't need them. Who gets to play the Terry Funk role? Oreo The Orca!

I do. I think judges should be there for every world title match, I also think they should never be active competitors.

Sadly, we don't get my preferred Judge due to him being otherwise occupied: {Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler}

Assuming Page retains I am hoping for something along these lines, can't think of a veteran free agent who could adequately fill that role though, if Samoa Joe was still available he'd have been perfect.

It would be like allowing active MMA fighters to judge other fights in their current promotion, it would lead to widespread corruption. How can you expect an active wrestler to be objective when it can impact their own career?

A returning Moxley could work.

With judges in other sports, they usually have a criteria for how they’re meant to determine a winner in case the fight goes the distance and comes to them. They use things like aggression, ring, control, number of strikes, etc.
My question is: what’s the criteria? How do you even judge something like a pro wrestling match? In Kayfabe.

Cody vs Chris Jericho back at Full Gear 2019, had judges. I don't really remember anything happening with them other than Dean Malenko and Jericho having a stare down and Muta not even having a pen to write down notes. The judges for that match had nothing to do with the finish, and I kind of believe that will be the same for Hangman/Danielson. The one thing for sure is the match won't have the same finish unless Dark Order pull a MJF and throw in the towel for Hangman Why does Muta need a pen? He just spits at the paper and uses his finger to make the notes.

I'm just here for the cameos. Those cost 25 to 250 a piece I made it all the way to the checkout screen to book a Gangrel Cameo to follow up on the bit, but I realized that I didn't know how to communicate what the bit is.

Psychology isn't it? With 10 or 5 minutes to go Danielson is 'winning' comfortably due to his experience means he can counter anything Hangman throws at him racking up points on the scorecard. A cocky Danielson tries to wind down the clock; keeping his distance from Hangman, rolling out of the ring whenever he can. It forces Hangman to take mad risks and show a lot of aggression to get that precious pin or tap out before the clock runs out...which he does at the last possible second.
Needs commentary to be on top of their game to inform the audience of this without beating them over the heads in a patronizing "You probably didn't get this but Don't Look Up was really about..." way.

I could see it depending on the judge. Like, if they use Malenko again, he'd likely favor technical wrestling, whereas a different judge might favor showing grit, etc. Amusingly, given Malenko and Jerry Lynn being at like, every show, they could just grab people backstage without any trouble for credible judges, but I imagine they'll have at least one surprise.

I think it's a very corny idea, as most attempts to bring boxing/MMA aspects into wrestling are.
But I also find the idea of a 60min wrestling match ending in a draw to be totally absurd, so I'm very much in the minority on this one.

I must admit I don't care for a judge stipulation. Just make it no time limit. I would also agree Page should have beaten someone before drawing with Danielson.
