I'm not acting like my opinion is fact. What I don't appreciate is people being shit on for expressing an unpopular opinion about anything AEW. It's unhealthy. I'm curious as to what board you get no pushback for expressing unpopular opinions. No matter where you go, people are going to make assumptions about people for saying shit most people there don't agree with. It sucks but it's also human nature.

I detest Brock Lesnar with every fiber of my being and I think he’s the worst thing to ever happen to professional wrestling. But, like, I don’t act like my subjective opinion is an objective fact. Bucks detractors act like it’s some kind of infallible truth that they’re “spot monkeys” or “glorified comedy gymnasts.” It’s not. I'm not acting like my opinion is fact. What I don't appreciate is people being shit on for expressing an unpopular opinion about anything AEW. It's unhealthy. Dude i hate to tell you, but if you think people are shitting on you here for an unpopular opinion and deem it "unhealthy", go to a place like Reddit or Twitter and see exactly how awful it can really be We really need to nip this "No one can express a negative opinion about AEW" in the bud, a negative and unpopular opinion is certainly going to recieve counterpoints and disagreements anywhere and everywhere on a public social media site. No one here is telling you that you can't feel that way, but obviously plenty of people are going to disagree with you, that's the internet, that's their right if they choose to do so, that's what a public forum does. I don't exactly see you being shit on for your opinion here either. Counterpointed yes, disagreed with yes, but that's the nature of an unpopular take...

If you have an unpopular opinion, then everyone who disagrees has the right to disagree and defend their view point. As far as I know, no one insults other people here for unpopular opinions. This isn’t Reddit. If someone doesn’t like the Young Bucks, they aren’t banned here, there maybe heated discussions, but that’s the nature of these forums.

There's a now-locked thread filled with AEW fans shitting on Tony Khan for his idiocy that proves the whole "woe is me no one's allowed to criticize AEW give me attention" line of thought is completely wrongheaded. Can we stop with the self-victimization please?

I used to kind of hate the Young Bucks and viewed them as mere "spot monkeys".
The fact that they were to get over HUGE, without WWE at that, and help start a rival promotion and a true alternative to WWE(at last!) earned them my eternal respect.

I wouldn’t say so, no. May be a while before they win the belts again, but that’s going to happen if we want them to do the thing of rotating talents in and out so nobody overstays their welcome (too much) and the characters and match combinations stay relatively fresh. There’s still a lot for them to do as a featured team.

Yeah, I hate their work and the rules don't count, multi-man car crash style they specialise in, but respect the hell out of their hustle.

That's what people are supposed to do.

They’re not the champions anymore so they’re not the focal points of the division. It’s a pretty neat concept.
Had it not been for COVID they’d likely be continuing their tension with reDRagon, which will surely be a main featured angle.

The Young Bucks are very good at what they do, It'd just I don't like what they do very much. Like the Lucha Bros match was a really great match but I can point at several things that I thought were dumb that pulled me out of the match, and ruined it a little for me.
But anyway, of course they drop down the card a little, give some other teams a chance. Maybe put over Jurassic Express a bit by challenging them and losing.

That wasn’t meant to be directed at you, in particular. Just the general narrative that a certain tennis enthusiast from my hometown peddles that is the very lifeblood of his existence these days. But see, that's another thing. Not everyone who doesn't like the Bucks has their opinion because of "Louisville Tennis Man Who Shall Not Be Named", and it's kind of unhealthy to put other people into his box.

Good.
I've been wanting that for a while. The less of the Bucks we get, the better for me.

They're getting to do a big feud with Undisputed Era, I doubt this is the case.

I think that the notion that it’s some kind of unassailable truth that the Bucks are shitty spot monkeys is fully a Cornette thing. I don’t begrudge anyone want who doesn’t care for the Bucks’ work at all. Only the idea that you’re, somehow, not a “true” wrestling fan if you enjoy their style of work.

Sorry if this seemed like a “post deliberately unpopular opinion then leave” thread, I’ve been busy. I read a lot of comments about how they’re still constantly featured, and that’s not really my point. I was saying that yes, they’re still in the show every week but it feels like the show doesn’t need them anymore, and that the product as a whole feels like it’s passed them by. Like when you’ve got Punk and MJF tearing the place down without even wrestling and Bryan and Page tearing the place down by wrestling..the Buck’s silly shtick seems kind of played out and unnecessary.
I may be biased because I haaaaate what Cole has become since joining (the unfunny comedy, the silly spots, the kissing thing, Budge..all of it, hate it) but I could happily never see the Bucks on TV again.

Well you're again in the unpopular opinion because the Bucks are still super over and consistently get some of the highest rated segments of the entire show when they wrestle. The general wrestling public isn't tired of their shtick and definitely tune in to see what they're doing, no matter what it is. Also Cole doing funny doesn't take away from him whatsoever. He brings it in ring, he's one of the best wrestlers they have. I actually like that he isn't afraid to do humor every now and again, wrestling is supposed to be fun, Cole is fun and he's damn good. And literally anyone who faces Cassidy gets involved in some comedy, even PAC, who played it as straight as possible and still it wound up being hilarious and the confrontations themselves damn good. And say what ya want about BUDGE, it got over, fans loved it, and Cole vs SIlver ruled as a match, so just from my perspective, what Cole's done works. So it's like... good for you if you would be happy never seeing the Bucks again? It's just not an opinion shared by the general masses both online and especially with people watching and live. Doesn't mean you can't see who agrees and doesn't, so I hope the thread was insightful for ya.

I love the Bucks and would happily watch them wrestle every week. Having a wide variety of other tag teams and wrestlers that work different styles and are new to AEW isn't a sign that AEW is moving on from them, it's just a sign that AEW is diversifying and getting as much talent as they can.
I don't know about anyone else, but I like variety in my wrestling show. I like seeing a 100 mile an hour tag match with the Bucks, followed by a slower technical match with the likes of Danielson or Garcia, followed by a promo-heavy angle like Punk and MJF. Even when it's wrestlers or a style I don't particularly care for, I prefer variety. Don't like something/someone, then just wait for the next segment and let those who enjoy it, enjoy it.

I will say this, I don't think people give the Bucks enough credit for knowing how to get others over. Sure many felt their title reign went a bit too long, but I think they do a great job of getting fans invested. I think they also realize that it is for the best that they stay out of the tag title scene for now. Let Jurassic Express and Lucha Bros get more of the spotlight

Moved on?
One of the biggest most pushed storylines is if Cole going to pick the Bucks or ReDRagon.
While I can’t stand them, they will be a permanent fixture in AEW for the for seeable future.
