I always get nervous when veteran NXT wrestlers work a dark match because far too often it leads to them getting “future endeavored” or possibly even worst getting called up to the main roster and wasting away on Main Event.

Ciampa would be a big addition to the weak Smackdown roster. Ciampa versus Roman is at least worth on Live Premium Event title match.

Yeah, I think we'll start to see more "NXT Veterans" getting matches over the next few weeks as well.

Well the last time they did this, it was Gargano and O'Reilly and those two have been killing it on the main roster ever since.

The fact that Ciampa is working SmackDown at any capacity is basically writing on the wall for him.
It says his "No Main Roster" pass has expired. And also says, "Main Roster or Fired".

Didn't Ciampa turn down a move to the main roster a few years ago because he knew his body wouldn't be able to take the schedule? I mean I guess it's a little less grueling now, even though they still do live events.

Yeah count me in as someone who takes this as a bad sign and not a good one, because it feels like so many of the NXT talents who work these DARK matches lately are just getting like one last look before Vince/Nick decide to let them go
And given these two have strong connections to HHH, I fear the worst...

I think Ciampa finally wants a run on the main roster. Even if it fails for whatever reason, I think he wants to at least try and have no regrets.

In fact, WWE was actively trying to keep both of them around. They also "tried" to keep Cole around by offering him a deal that was a lot lower than AEW's offer. So they could've tried harder and we saw with Owens that they can if they really want to. |

He changed his tune on that in recent years Yeah, he said that back when “main roster schedule” meant 4 shows a week and lots of travel. They schedule now is considerably lighter, so I could see him saying “f*** it” and giving it a shot. |
