Practice and qualifying were interesting today. It's almost like NASCAR did zero R&D on how the low-profile, single lug wheel would hold up in race situations.
Austin Cindric continues to be hot as he won the pole.

Good little race today from what I saw. Its we early but I'm enjoying these races with this car. Yeah it's got some kinks to work out but it's been a nice two races, IMO.

There's definitely been some growing pains with the wheels in particular but I like it, it's a rawness and a challenge that we haven't seen the teams have to deal with for a while, and the car's been racing well.
Even the stupid number placement is growing on me, though it helps that some teams have actually taken the damn effort to design around it.

Once I saw it on track, the number placement didn't bother me anymore. And yes, the teams that design around it really help.
The race today was super entertaining. It was awesome to see Suarez, Erik Jones, and Reddick running up front all day. Hell if Blaney had a decent crew he could have easily won.

Nikita Mazepin has been fired by Haas, in conjunction with the team officially terminating their contract with his father’s company, which was the team’s title sponsor.

Not a major shock there, can't say I'm super upset about it either.
I get it, not every Russian person is behind what is going on right now. But I feel it is the correct decision.
Haas must be the unluckiest team around, They had that whole Rich Energy incident and now this.
Either way It looks like Pietro Fittipaldi, Antonio Giovanazzi and Oscar Piastri are the lucky candidates to team up with Mick this season now.

Ryan Blaney needs a crew change stat. A few races back he lost 5-10 spots every stop. This week he dominated and lost many spots again on pit road.

This Ferrari engine must be a goddamn rocket, because the Alfa Romeo and Haas cars are right in the mix with the factory team.
