I was always a fan of the guy in ring because to me Randy was the prototypical wrestler who had it all. As you say he’s matured personally over the years and the documentary where he talks about the crap he did was refreshing to hear him say it and not try to justify it, and then there was his broken skull sessions where you saw the far side of his maturity. I also think marrying his wife Kim has helped him grow up. If only his first three wives had the same effect. sadly they caused more trouble for him by fighting with wives 4 through 10 all the time.

I've said it before but I feel like they intended him to be a new Rock but instead they got a new Bret, which is a much better role for him

I don't get it. At all. It's kind of a small horse, I mean what am I missing? Am I crazy?

I said this about Cena (and it turned out to be true once he went part time) and I think it holds for Orton too: People are going to look back and appreciate his body of work once he's gone

Orton also holds the record for Most WWE PPV matches, currently at 177.

It seems like Orton's been in "I just want to have fun mode" for the last year and it's been heartwarming to see.

Randy, like Taker, has kind of been the backbone for the company. And, also like 'Taker, was never the 'top guy' during his time. 'Taker had Hogan, Bret, Shawn, Austin, Rock, Cena; Randy has had Cena and Roman. MmHmm, that’s kind of what I mean by “backbone”. Never really meant to be “the guy” but could be slotted there, elsewhere, and always a credible main eventer. That’s why in hindsight it kind of would have been cool for him to be the one to beat Taker at WM21 but c'est la vie.

Is this the longest stretch of time he's gone without getting injured? He used to have a reputation for being injury prone and would miss significant time fairly regularly but it feels like he's been around pretty much full time for the past 3 years. I know they don't do as many house shows as they used to so that must be helping with wear and tear.

Randy is amazing in that sometimes he’s the coolest thing and other times I’d rather watch just about anybody else.

Orton has been the same character for the majority of this time.
Taker at least changed up his looks and characters to stay fresh.
What's Orton done... Wear Red tights that one time?
