Has Kennedy held on to the MITB briefcase and didn't have the drug snafu, he would have been the one to break Undertaker's streak at Wrestlemania 24. Taker took a huge liking to him early on, and this would have made so much of WWE storylines for the ensuing years potentially radically different.
Voted Sandow. Was a defined character when WWE really needed more in the main event scene and could work a WWE style while controlling the crowd on a main eventer level. Him losing the cash-in was a forgettable epilogue to Cena getting his mojo back after being the first to cash in and not win the title the previous year.
Otherwise, Otis should have at the very least been able to cash-in. Let him win the belt too, he's a legitimate medalist in wrestling from the Pan-American Games. He had the lovable over character and could easily slid into the main event picture by letting his matches speak for themselves.

I was leaning Sandow, but at the same time if I recall, he was in the AGGRESSIVE phase and they were stripping a lot of what made his character fun, so not sure...

Hot take:
Goofy world title Otis would be fun as hell.
Corporate heel Otis would have been too.

This is tough...
Kennedy - Him losing the briefcase came about because of an injury. He's one of my childhood favorites (for the longest time it was The Rock #1 and Kennedy #2) and he should've been a world champion.
Cena - No sympathy for him. I would've just changed the winner of the match completely. Jericho should've won that year.
Sandow - I was a fan of his. This is also during the time where not every world champion was created equal, so he could've won the WHC and held it for several months. Have a Sandow/Rhodes rivalry for the title.
Corbin - I feel his time comes very soon. And you're telling me the same year Jinder Mahal was WWE Champion, Corbin couldn't be?
Strowman - I'm glad he eventually got his world title win, but WWE failed to strike the iron when it was hot... and I don't understand? They had to know Strowman had momentum, so they gave him the MITB briefcase... but they squandered their opportunity? I'm still baffled by this decision.
Otis - Completely shocked by him winning in the first place and never expected him to become world champion... but if The Miz cashed in and held the title for a week, what's the harm in having Otis be the bridging champion to Bobby Lashley?
at the end of the day, I'm really torn on Kennedy and Strowman. Since Mr. Kennedy never got his world title run, I'd have to go with him, but doubt it changes how his WWE career ended.

Kennedy.
He got shafted so bad there. The doctor said he was gonna be out for a year and they took the case off him immediately... then it turned out he was only gonna be out for like, a month.
I always wonder what would have happened if Kennedy didn't get injured all those times, didn't lie about the steroids and didn't injure Cena/Orton. He had mega star written all over him and it could've ushered in a new boom period. Especially if they went with the "Vince's Son" angle and had him face HHH for control of the company at Mania. Which is what was rumored to happen.

Sandow would have been wonderful as World Champion if they hadn't stripped away the Intellectual Saviour of the Masses gimmick.
I voted Braun though as he was ready in 2018 and WWE just didn't strike because Roman

We all realize that had Kennedy kept the briefcase, we wouldn't have had the two Undertaker/Shawn Michaels Wrestlemania matches, the Undertaker/CM Punk match or the moment of Brock breaking the streak, right?

We all realize that had Kennedy kept the briefcase, we wouldn't have had the two Undertaker/Shawn Michaels Wrestlemania matches, the Undertaker/CM Punk match or the moment of Brock breaking the streak, right? ummm...? do explain Undertaker took a liking to Kennedy very early on. Kennedy's original MITB plan was to cash in at Wrestlemania 24, leading to a year long countdown (emphasizing how the MITB winner has up to one year to cash-in). Kennedy was going to be the one to then beat Taker for the title at Mania 24, winning the world championship and ending the streak fully solidifying him as a main eventer. You don't get the drama of Michaels trying to end the streak next year, or streak vs career the following year or any other streak-based storylines.

Baron Corbin. I really believe that Corbin should have had a title run, even for a month.

Honestly, I probably wouldn't change any of those results. I might have changed the way they were handled, but not the match outcome.

None. People need to lose and you need people who while they may raise up the card, not be able to make it up the last step. The likes of Sandow and Corbin are perfect examples. They were fine in the mid card to upper mid card, but are not/were not main eventers.

Maybe this is an unpopular take, but:
Baron Corbin is totally a potential main eventer, but they did what they've always done and they blew it. Guys like Kennedy and Sandow WERE given chances in other places and they failed or didn't have great runs.
Corbin's been over as the silent babyface, was going places on Smackdown and was hated as a heel as Constable (even if that was even admittedly a rough point in his run). Then, King Corbin didn't go quite that well (and I think a lot of that can be blamed on creative), yet he somehow managed to salvage everything with really fun character work as the guy down on his luck. Even Happy Corbin now is kind of fun, although I think Corbin doesn't need Riddick Moss.
TLDR: I think there are a lot of people underestimating Baron Corbin and his potential value as a world champ on Smackdown. Giving him a WWE Title run would have helped establish him.

Sandow on the condition that we hadn’t already f***ed up his character like six different ways by that point. Give us The Genius-ass 2012 Sandow with the robe and the pink trunks and don’t put him in a f***ing black t shirt. Have THAT motherf***er steal the belt off of Cena and spend like two months running away from him.

Corbin.
Even if you don't change it to a win, you still change the circumstances of how it happened.
Cena burying the shit out of the dude on social media, then having him lose to freaking Jinder in the lamest distraction finish ever?
I know he's not popular, but they let Cena flush his credibility down the shitter.

Anyone saying a Sandow tile run would have been bad is doing so with hindsight based on his Impact run. He was on fire at the time and it would have been good then. And the match he had with Cena during the cash in was one of the most engaging matches I've ever seen I was on the edge of my seat.

This is popular with me. I've said it for a long time, despite not being a fan of his, I respect his work. Not many people remember how over he was as a face, and if anyone's not familiar, go look at his work in NXT. But how he's gone from that to being one of the most hated wrestlers in WWE based on character work alone is a gift, especially when you consider he never wrestled in the indies. So I'm with ya, Dark Flame.

I voted for Kennedy, although Sandow was a good second choice here. Here is a breakdown on my thoughts for each one how I would have booked them differently.
Mr. Kennedy: like others said he was just about guaranteed to cashing win successfully, although not sure about him cashing against Undertaker to break the streak. Yes he got injured, but they could have kept him off TV for months while he was gone, then BAM when he returns he cashes in and wins the big one to shock everyone! He could beat anyone from Batista, Cena, or Edge. If Undertaker also still got injuried they still could have had Edge beat Undertaker on Smackdown or next ppv in a scheduled match then.
John Cena: This was a waste of a money in the bank win/cash-in. But if they HAD to do Cena, he can hold onto briefcase until after Royal Rumble (Jack Swagger or Ryback wins Rumble and they face ADR at Wrestlemania 29 for WHC), and Rock still beats Punk for WWE title. Then Cena cashes in against Rock but announces a month ahead of time they will face for their Wrestlemania rematch.
Baron Corbin: Would Corbin really cash in against Lesnar?? Hahahha no! He either is successful against Mahal, holds belt for a month and loses it to AJ Styles, OR he attempts cash in on AJ and loses.
Braun Strowman: They could have had Braun cash against Roman right before Roman has to go out for Leukaemia treatment, then lose it to Lesnar instead of it being vacated.
Damien Sandow: Since they unifed the belts not long after he failed, he holds onto briefcase until after Wrestlemania 30, then when Daniel Bryan has to go out with neck surgery, he cashes in on Bryan to win it then drops it to Cena the next month to avoid another vacancy.
Otis: I honestly do not see him winning the title. I would saw he either cashes in on a "weakened" Roman and still loses, OR cashes ahead of time against Drew McIntyre and puts a good before losing there.
