Well it's a pretty great way to determine whose going to be the Janetty... Except that its not. Unless you think that Roman, Bret Hart and Jeff Hardy all "the Janetty"

When the Rock N Roll Express split in 91 Morton KINDA / SORTA changed his look up a little bit to fit in with the York Foundation. I heard he was supposed to do a lot more to change his look but he didn't really want to. Gibson stayed in the traditional RNR gear.

Does X-Pac still dressing as a member of DX long after they had split up count? I was going to say the same thing. X-Pac kept the green and black attire long after DX had split. I want to say he didn't start dressing in the black, blue, and white attire until sometime in late January, early February of 2001.

I don't know about the gear, but Booker T kept the Harlem Heat theme or some version of it ever since after the breakup.

Viscera kept his Ministry Attire well after the Stable had fizzled out & briefly in his 2005 return before switching gimmicks.

Get it right, it's "Chico" Santana. Tito should have made the Barbarian some of that food of his. The Barbarian would have had to duck out of that Mania 6 match.

Well he didn't keep the Attire, but Crush got to keep the name after Demolition split.

-Hart Foundation (Bret keeps the theme and style of gear, Jim becomes an MC Hammer race car driver) -Rockers (Marty keeps the theme and the gear or similar style, Shawn became HBK) -Shield (Only Roman keeps the gear and theme, Seth and Dean change their gear and themes) -Hardy Boyz (Jeff kept the theme and gear, Matt changed up his gear and became V1) -Dudleys (Bubba kept the theme and gear, Devon became the Reverend) I hadn't thought about it before, but it's striking in how many of these cases the guy who kept the tag team's look and persona was the one obviously being positioned as the bigger deal, whereas the guy who switched up his gimmick was the one being shunted off to the side. The biggest exception is the Rockers, of course, but for decades we've all settled on the "Marty came off like such a loser sticking with the Rockers song and gimmick while Shawn was reinventing himself" assessment, only that seems to have been the exception rather than the rule.
