Via The Roku Channel's Twitter:
Things are about to get weird. Daniel Radcliffe is set to star in the all-new feature film WEIRD: The @alyankovic Story, a Roku Original based on the career of the Grammy-winning musician and pop cultural icon.

So... they're making the Funny Or Die video a feature length film with a different actor?
If so I hope they still have Gary Cole as his dad and Patton Oswalt as Dr. Demento.

Sounds like this is also being produced by Funny or Die, so yeah. Wonder how similar it will be, since they had Aaron Paul as Al in that. If the story is basically the same, I'm pumped, cause that trailer would've been hilarious as a movie.

“When my last movie UHF came out in 1989, I made a solemn vow to my fans that I would release a major motion picture every 33 years, like clockwork. I’m very happy to say we’re on schedule. And I am absolutely thrilled that Daniel Radcliffe will be portraying me in the film. I have no doubt whatsoever that this is the role future generations will remember him for,” Yankovic said in a statement. www.thewrap.com/daniel-radcliffe-weird-the-weird-al-yankovic-story/Funny that this is going to be available on The Roku Channel, which is like the streaming equivalent of UHF. (Or maybe that would be Tubi?) I wonder if they will include his grandpa Blind Lemon Yankovic

Always wanted the Funny or Die trailer to be a real movie. Hope they do it. It’ll be interesting.

First teaser
Definitely going a comedic route on the biopic and it's looking great so far.

Definitely inspired by the Funny or Die sketch (I know the same writers are involved).
That's clearly supposed to be Madonna with Al as he closes the door.
Doesn't look too bad. Will be checking it out.

Looks like a ton for fun and Daniel Radcliff actually looks like he can be a good Al.

Looks like it’s gonna be a parody of over dramatic biopics. It looks really good to be honest.

I hope Coolio is in it (and really, it's not like he has anything better to do).

Also Rainn Wilson as Dr. Demento is incredible casting.

Just realized that Rainn Wilson is Dr. Demento. And apparently Evan Rachel Wood is Madonna.

I'm excited, but I did not love the trailer.
Didn't really seem like they went for any jokes, it was just "can you believe we made a movie about Weird Al?!"
Also maybe I'm out of the loop but is Like A Surgeon perceived as one of his more iconic songs? Would think Smells Like Nirvana or Eat It might have worked better.

Daniel Radcliffe’s post-Potter career choices have been so bizarre but absolutely necessary as there weren’t many other ways he’d ever get away from Potter. He’ll always be the boy who lived but it certainly won’t be the only thing he’s remembered for.

She said to Al “I suppose you’ll do Like a Surgeon now?” He thought that was a great idea. He’s told the story several times.

I have no idea if it's true or not so take this with a grain of salt but my understanding was that he pretty much got all the money he'd ever need from Harry Potter so now he just does stuff that seems interesting to him.
