Florida, Chicago, Texas, Georgia, they seem to be in every couple of weeks.
If not there, then it’s the typical southern states with wcw ties like the Carolina’s, Georgia, virginias.
Sure they’ll occasionally go to New York, Milwaukee, or even Colorado, but why do they never go further west or north (Canada)?
Is there some reason why they’d avoid a major city like Los Angeles kr San Francisco or Washington? The closest I’ve seen them is Vegas.

Might not see the potential income as worth the extra travel expenses, particularly for the ring and set,, though would think they’d go ahead and do some extra dates around there when they’re in Vegas. Though do know they’ve been in Texas a few times.

So I believe the current plan is they ARE planning a West Coast Tour for around Double or Nothing going back to Vegas, they haven't announced dates but this is what I believe the plan is
I believe the reason they hadn't gone out there yet are places like California were still pretty strict about COVID guidelines, more than most stares are at this stage of the pandemic, but with the potential tour I assume they're going there, they know they have a huge west coast fanbase and I think The Bucks would wanna wrestle in their home state a few times too...

There were plans to at least have one show in the Bucks' figurative backyard in Ontario, CA, but the pandemic completely derailed things.

Think we'll definitely see some West Coast/Canada shows this summer.

Canada doesn’t allow people at basketball games judging by the highlights I see online, so unless it’s an empty arena show, AEW won’t be going there for a while.

I'm thinking it's the pandemic restrictions honestly. The expansion will start this summer when we as a society finally throw our arms in the air and treat covid like the new flu and proceed with our lives. But with Illinois/Florida/tri state as their foundation Locations, they should be fine building outwards once the green light is given

I remember listening to an interview with Bryce, who outside of being a ref also handles the travel accommodations for the talent. It was pre-pandemic and he was asked about going over to the west coast and he said it was hard because you’re asking people to be at a show at 3:00 on a Wednesday. It sounded like they were waiting to make sure they could kinda prove themselves and make sure they could fill a venue. I’m sure they’ll announce something soon, they know there is a demand.

we have super strict COVID regulations in most of Canada and crossing the border typically means self-isolating for a couple weeks. there will be AEW shows in Canada some day but it still won't be for a long time yet.

Local restrictions may still play a part but I think there's more to it than that.

I want them to come to the UK That's definitely coming when it's safer. I remember one of the EVPs or TK saying that Fyter Fest was intended to be in the UK for 2020 before plans changed due to COVID.

If it's about timing, then they could shift the tapings around. Yes, a 5pm local start time might be a bit early, but announce a show far enough ahead and people will make time.

Is this technically the biggest show AEW has had in California so far?

West coast tour has a lot more to do with logistics than anything specifically to do with pandemic-related restrictions right now. Mostly transportation and time zone stuff.
International travel is another story, though.

It's just been timing. COVID happened in the Spring when AEW was rumored to be doing Cali shows leading up to DoN in Vegas. DoN hasn't been in Vegas two years in a row, and live touring returned just a couple months after DoN was held in Daily's Place, and they initially ran in cities ranging from Texas to Florida because those were the markets that would be less likely to reinstate restrictions if COVID numbers blew up. Then as it became clear that restrictions weren't coming back, they had to run the cities that have been holding onto tickets for a year and a half, which meant all those Northeast and Midwest dates. They never actually sold tickets to any of the planned Cali shows, and all the shows that were sold for Vegas 2020 were refunded when DoN didn't return to Vegas as originally planned.
Yeah, 5PM start times are awkward, but WWE does it anyway for their West Coast shows. And damn near every market in the contiguous US is allowing mass gatherings of all sizes, so it's not COVID restrictions, though Cali would likely require vax cards in the foreseeable future.
