At least he got to feel like a badass for winning a fake fight with a former MMA fighter, I guess. 😂

Wow, what the hell is going on in WWE?
And course they let go Shane, but refuse to let Ali go.

What I get out of this... 1) Isn't there someone else who calls himself Best in the World? Might Shane track this individual down? 2) My curious mind makes me wonder how much of an IWC whiplash is out there, from "Not Shane (when he was announced for the Rimble/we found out he had influence over the match)" to "Poor Shane". As we know, we can be haters until WWE "victimizes" someone...see also Warrior, Ultimate (2005) and Jax, Nia (yesterday when she was applauded for turning down the Rimble. That didn't last long when she in the same interview, ahem, presented her stance on a certain world event) 3) I am thinking of The Raccoons...well I always do, but when Cedric Sneer said, "Pop (Cyril Sneer) hasn't been so happy since he evicted Grandma!" I think Shane did himself no favors here and probably deserves to be gone. But WWE does also have a history of passing the buck and blaming others so that Vince doesn’t take the blame. In the last few days we’ve heard reports about Brock, Shane, Ronda, Charlotte, etc that paint them in not great light. It all feels, convenient, timing wise. Especially since earlier reports said that Vince was VERY hands on with the Men’s Rumble in particular.

This is also a great day for anyone who has been wondering for almost 20 years why Shane McMahon vs. Kane at Survivor Series 2003 was like that.

PWInsider is reporting that the talk is Shane was upset at the Rumble because he wasn't being allowed to do what he wanted, and that he was more preoccupied with his stuff in the match rather than the match itself.
He won a striking contest with Matt Riddle, and eliminated Kevin Owens by himself. What the f*** else did he want to do and was shot down?

Still can't believe that Shane was in a HiaC match with Kevin Owens and never took a package piledriver off the top of the cell onto the Spanish announce table.

So it sounds like WWE were embarrassed that their completely broken and shambolic creative was exposed to a big time major celeb and that's what has caused Shane to be let go.
"Don't let the outside world know what a disorganised rabble we really are !"
It can't just be that the Rumble was bad because they've had a ton of bad shows over the years and nothing as dramatic as this has happened after each one.
I can't say I'm sad to see Shane fired though, his tough guy act was terrible and him booking himself to be in the final 3 of the Rumble was pathetic.

Frankly IDK why they let Shane produce this when he apparently doesn’t produce much else in WWE?

This entire thing becomes more hilarious by also taking account this was to lead to Seth Vs Shane at Mania presumeably for the WWE title.
like holy shit what the hell happened that drove Shane to be this f***ing insane because he always seemed to be the cool McMahon everyone liked.

He just hid it better. Look at the Kane feud in 2003, or the feud with Orton in 2009. Shane just had to stand toe to toe with those guys.

I don't care how over Shane is, Seth is doing the best work of his career since The Shield days IMO and deserves better than having to drag a believable match out of Shane McMahon for the f***ing WWE Championship.

This is absolutely hilarious. At least wrestlers don't have to sell for this bozo anymore. How big a jackass must he have been acting for them to tell him to hit the road?

Look, I know there was some discussion about where this ranked as the worst Rumble match. This has to cement it is as the worst ever. It’s the only match maybe in company history that resulted in the producer getting released as a result of how it was booked. And he’s the owner’s son!
