Brock wins EC, takes WWE title, challenges Reigns for Universal has got to be what they’re building to, right?
So either Reigns pins Brock to become the WWE World Champion of the Universe or Brock gets BOTH belts and disappears with ‘em for much of 2022.
Yippee?

I am not incapable of thinking Vince wants to retire the WWE title so his cosmic smurf belt becomes cooler

Thus ending the 'brand split' and having their handful of stars appear on both shows while they scramble desperately to try and make new stars?

That does seem like it's gonna be the plan, which is... not exactly great? Because while Bork buggerin' off for a while is one thing, Roman running roughshod on both shows sounds like a nightmarish hellscape from which no joy can ever be felt. Thus ending the 'brand split' and having their handful of stars appear on both shows while they scramble desperately to try and make new stars?Edited slightly for accuracy.

I can't imagine USA and FOX would go for that.

Why have Lesnar lose the title at Royal Rumble then?

Beastie Boy is going to win the Elimination Chamber, and it's going to be Brock vs Roman for both titles.
I want the story between Rollins and Reigns to keep going, but at this stage, it looks for all the world like it's going to be Roman vs Brock at 'mania.

If they're not going for it, they should really stop teasing it / pushing it so much on TV. I can just picture a network person seeing Brock bring up title for title for the fifth time being like "No, we JUST told them we want our own set of titles. They wouldn't go back on that..........would they?"

I can't imagine USA and FOX would go for that. Not sure if they have been specific about wanting their own titles, but probably the appeal of having Roman or/and Brock on both shows would appeal to them as it means neither is losing out on the perceived biggest star.

I can't imagine USA and FOX would go for that. They explicitly wouldn't. I also feel like Mattel would be pissed if they're the ones who sell the toy ones. I could maybe see a "____ Two Belts" scenario for like a couple of weeks, but that's it. Zero chance of unification.

The brand split matters to the Networks, it would actually effect their TV Deals coming up, more than they may already have been tbh
Brock COULD win both belts, but it's nowhere near gonna be a unification/brand union, or the networks will flip

Brock/Reigns is already stupid as is. if Reigns wins, whoopty doo, he already won their last two singles matches. if Lesnar wins, great, they have to set up yet another singles match so Reigns can get the win back. Why have Lesnar lose the title at Royal Rumble then? so he could then enter the Rumble to get a title shot against Reigns to set up the match. he doesn't lose the title, he doesn't enter the Rumble, and someone else wins and challenges at Mania.

They could have gotten around that. Do a angle that results in the Rumble winner getting their shot before WM or something. It wouldn't even be the first time they did that with Lesnar as he had two title matches with Kurt Angle after winning the 2003 Rumble, the WM match and one on Smackdown a few weeks earlier.

Technically they could sell it on never beating him clean and on his own, but the biggest problem is that they already had the best match they could have together at Wrestlemania 31.

I know they are teasing that it could happen, but I don't think Brock will win the Elimination Chamber. There will be more shenanigans with Heyman/Reigns that they want to make sure Brock doesn't get a chance at having 2 titles.

If he wins it, Roman can beat him for his title at Mania and if he costs him, all he can do at Mania is retain his OWN... That would be the most ridiculous thing ever.

Perhaps, but I feel like Roman is so wrapped up in being the Universal champion and that is the only title he values above all else. Of course, he might say differently on Smackdown this week and may root for Brock to win so it's a title vs. title match so we'll see how it goes. I'd rather they didn't go that route as I'd like to see either Seth or AJ get back in the WWE title picture.
