Colt managed to pick himself up after being chewed up and spat out by the WWE, make a decent living for a time but thanks to Punk he lost access to WWE guests, got sued, saddled with massive legal bills and a promise that Punk would help that he reneged on. I can't imagine Colt is in any hurry to make up.

I read someone once online say (in reference to speculation on the Punk/Colt relationship) that friends becoming litigious can prove irreparable. Obviously, none of us knows the in’s and outs. I’d be willing to bet some sort of conversation or agreement was made to keep things cool or “professional”..but it’s really not looking good as far as OP’s question.

I imagine Cabana's deal quietly expires and they never interact.

I hope so. Not for the sake of AEW or the pop, but because it'd be a sign that they've made peace with each other. It sucks when such a long-time friendship gets destroyed for any reason, but when it's from something as shitty as the fallout of Punk leaving WWE, it's even worse.

I imagine Cabana's deal quietly expires and they never interact. Possibly, but I hope not. Helps he's got a lot of friends and people who respect him in AEW, anyway, but I do think he adds a lot to Dark Order as an act.

I was also surprised MJF didn't bring it up as it's a very cheap and obvious shot to anyone in the know, and it didn't seem like much was off-limits. The fact he didn't bring it up at all tells me Punk and Cabana probably aren't on good terms at the moment.

Frankly, leaving aside all the real-life stuff for a second, Punk is so far ahead of Cabana at the moment that it would be pretty much a waste of his time anyway.

They had a long friendship. I would like them to interact onscreen if and only if it is a reflection of them making up offscreen.

Yeah, I will say I would love to see them interact as they have been 2 of my favourites for years but I don’t wanna see them force it.

It’s more likely than, per se, CM Punk and Jay Lethal.
Anything is possible.

I imagine Cabana's deal quietly expires and they never interact. Unless it's Cabana's choice to have the deal expire, I can't see Tony (or Cody) choosing to cut Colt as they've both been very vocal about how without Colt lighting the torch for this generation of indy wrestling, there would be no AEW. He was the event horizon that got the ball rolling.

I'm more interested to see if Colt gets any kind of push at all🤞🤞 Colt being a seat filler in the DO is the darnest thing.

Yeah, it makes me wonder what the endgame with him in DO was going to be with Brodie. Although, he has aided in making the faction's face-turn enjoyable, however, I'd like to see him move on to a singles run eventually.

AEW might be shrugging some of the initial hires now of "We respect the hell out of you and you helped us a ton here's a steady paycheck", but I can't see them shedding Colt the same way they shed the likes of CIMA. Colt is another level of influential and also just an absolutely killer midcard guy to keep around. If they gotta keep them apart they'll keep them apart, but the Bucks too absolutely owe Colt their careers for how they built on everything he did.

TBH I thought for a brief moment that Colt would be the mystery tag partner the other night. I did too, but CM Punk allegedly cropped out Colt Cabana from a picture that posted. It was mentioned by someone on here a few weeks ago.

If they ever make up organically, they should reenact Savage/Elizabeth reuniting at WM VII spot for spot.

It feels like Punk's made his peace with what happened in WWE and has improved his outlook on things, but if he holds a grudge, he holds a grudge. I don't think either side is chomping at the bit to reconcile. MJF mentioning "podcast" is probably as close as they'll ever get to a reference on TV. I'm sure things have cooled down a bit just by virtue of the passage of time, but I think if things were better we'd somehow hear about it.

I doubt it. Colt has been off BTE for ages as well. Somehow I think he may be among those that will slowly fade out like Marko Stunt.
