It does feel like he’d be the perfect challenger for Reigns post-Wrestlemania, or as someone to challenge him for either the WWE Universal or WWE Championship at “SummerSlam”
I mean, if you think about how much both characters play toward their families legacies, Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes could work perfectly together.
And if Reigns walks out of “Wrestlemania” as a double champion (as we all suspect), sooner than later he’ll drop one of the titles without it hurting the potential of him facing off against the Rock at next year’s “Wrestlemania”
If Rhodes does sign on the dotted line, and Vince McMahon is genuine about giving him a mega-push… He has to pull the trigger on putting either the WWE Universal or WWE Championship on him, and give him the cachet of being the first person to defeat the Tribal Chief in nearly two years.

They teased him way too much tonight for it not to already be a done deal. I went from 90% sure he's signed to 99%.
It's just a question if he's coming in the next week or two to have a Wrestlemania match or if he's negotiated a break first to spend time with family and his debut is being saved for the post-Mania Raw/Smackdown.

They literally had everyone and their grandma tease a mystery friend or opponent tonight. Blueballing on an international scale.

Love the hints being dropped. I’m still guessing Rollins as his opponent, but maybe they haven’t decided yet and that’s why Edge’s opponent has been left open-ended.

If he is coming/signed I don't get leaving him out of WM. This is the time of year when the most eyes are on the show, so a post-WM RAW return doesn't make sense to me.

With Shane and Triple H out Cody can finally be what he’s always wanted to be: Vince’s new son. Only if he trims those sideburns.

Wonder if it should be taken as a worrying sign that the dashing bit from Miz got like no response whatsoever.

Cody would ideally debut in a spot with more “smart” fans that would have watched AEW. Raw is in the following cities on the lead up:
February 28- Columbus, OH March 7- Cleveland, OH March 14- Jacksonville, FL March 21- Chicago, IL March 28- Pittsburgh, PA
Debuting him in Jacksonville by interrupting Rollins, the week after Rollins and KO lose the tag title match would make a lot of sense.

Thanks for spelling this out for everybody. Yeah, if he doesn't debut by 3/14 then maybe he's not showing up, but right now I'm assuming he shows up on 3/14. I guess if Austin's showing up, he pops in on 3/7, but who knows.

Given there’s a lot of tickets still able to be moved, they would likely want to advertise Austin early if he is actually going to wrestle.

I feel like all anyone has to do to own him in a segment is point to his neck tattoo.
*Cody goes on long monologs about domething* Opposing wrestler: You're wrong and I can prove it. Picture on the titantron of the neck tattoo. "Exhibit A. I rest my case."

Edge looking like he's gonna tell us that THERE'S GOLD IN THEM THAR HILLS I TELLS YA Hasn’t grizzled gold prospector been his gimmick for a while now? I haven't watched the product consistently for a while. Last I saw him he was more 'unstable drifter' than 'grizzled prospector'.

I think he's done the whole "proving himself/raising his stock" shit that Vince gets off on, so I'm sending him straight to the title. Don't care if it's Roman, Brock, E, Drew...whoever. Cody Rhodes' return is a statement moment, and holding that title is it.

Wonder if it should be taken as a worrying sign that the dashing bit from Miz got like no response whatsoever. I guess it probably wasn't that weird overall, but it was weird to me at least that the dashing line got zero response but then there was a brief "WE WANT CODY" chant later. Like they wanted Cody but had no idea about his WWE stuff.
