Finally got around to watching the Superbowl halftime show, and even though I do enjoy some occasional Dre, I don't normally indulge in rap or know about many rappers, mainly the greats like Dre and Oscar from Men on a Mission. So it got me thinking, are there any wrestling rappers whose rap skills are acclaimed by people who listen to rap? Who are the best and the worst?

I think Cena is the only one who was taken somewhat "seriously." He got co-signs from mainstream names like Snoop and Method Man and worked with respected underground artists like Murs/Esoteric/Jake One/Freddie Foxx. His album legit went platinum and it gets posted on r/hiphopheads every month or two and the comments are always full of like, "this was way better than it had any right to be." With all due respect to the likes of Randy Savage (Be a Man was a jam) him rapping was treated like a complete joke by rap fans and no one bought the album.
R-Truth's actual music outside of his entrance themes isn't terrible but it's not really good either. I haven't heard an actual Max Caster song, only his freestyles. MVP had a verse on a Griselda track which was pretty good. The Rock featured on a Tech 9ine song recently and it was really bad which surprised me. I thought he could have pulled it off with his charisma alone.

Best is either B-Fab (Brianna Brandy) or John Cena. Their flows actually fit their time periods and their lyricism didn't absolutely suck.
Worst (for those who legitimately tried): Macho Man. Special shoutout to The Rock's meme verse, and specifically Max Caster, who has no excuse for being as corny as he is.

Macho Man's is FAR from the worst. Once you get past the strange novelty/oddity of it being a Randy Savage rap album, his flows and breath control are completely on-point and in time with the era it was released in.
The worst is by far Enzo / NZO. On every level possible his debut album was a bottom three worst rap release this side of the millennium. Just staggeringly bad.
In terms of best currently, Lio Rush makes great music. Rocky Romero is great too, while you might not suspect it from the jokey-entertaining Roppongi Vice / Roppongi 3K / Forever Hooligans themes, his work completely divorced from wrestling is pretty great.
R-Truth was actually very respected as a rapper pre-wrestling career. In the very early 90s, he was North Carolina rapper K-Krush and made enough noise regionally to represent North Carolina at the annual Jack the Rapper conventions - a big industry party for hip-hop, which is where the photos of him and 2Pac and Eazy E are from. Unfortunately, his music was only ever released regionally on cassette and, given the limitations of independent music releases in 1990 outside of major markets, very few copies of this album still exist, with the songs themselves never surfacing online. I had an interview scheduled with him that never materialized a few years back and tried to track down the K-Krush tape among longtime North Carolina hip-hop heads. Most of them remembered him, but had absolutely no idea that he later had a completely different career as a pro-wrestler.
If we're counting Kaiju Big Battel as wrestling, one of the more prominent monsters was played by Boston rapper Akrobatik, who in terms of actual hip-hop heads would probably be the most respected name on the list.
If we're talking hip-hop in general beyond rap, Joaquin Wilde / DJ Z has produced tracks for some well known and respected artists including, if memory serves me correct, Westside Gunn and Conway.

John Cena's album was surprisingly Decent, he won't be confused for Rakim or Nas or anybody but by the standards of the time his album came out it was pretty enjoyable.
I haven't listened to any of Enzo's songs besides that Consensual Penis song, but I thought that song was better than people treated (other than the previously mentioned line which is what most people remember about it)
This Hogan song is cheesy as hell and he's probably the worst wrestling rapper to put out an album
PN News was probably THE worst rapper overall, but he never put out an album
This legit sounds like they just grabbed some 50 year old guy who worked at the WCW offices and forced him to rap about an upcoming show

I knew I wasn’t the only one who didn’t think Savage was that bad a rapper. No, he’s not exactly Kendrick or Em in terms of flows or wordplay, but he’s the frigging Macho Man. Just based on that, he’s going to have intense and charismatic delivery.

Most of his rapping was indecipherable, but Oscar from Men on a Mission did it professionally before, so....

Konnan did LAX's theme and that was awesome. Did it go Bow wow wow yippee-yo yippee-yay Arriba la raza all day every day ? Which reminds me, Disco Inferno was pretty terrible, but that was kind of the point.

Plus he was such a perfectionist, you know he'd get technical details down even if it didn't all come together, nothing would be left to chance.
