Not that I think he would be a great fit or anything. But I just saw a random mention that with Elimination Chamber over he is officially a free agent.

They’d use him in a mentorship role, similar to Sting. Idk who he’d mentor tho.

This is nightmare booking, not fantasy booking. The best use would be something like how they use Sting. Goldberg takes a young wrestler under his wing (maybe Wardlow?) and gives him advice and mentorship while occasionally intervening in feuds.
But seriously, the only thing worse would be Brock in AEW.

After a match, camera cuts to a shot of Goldberg in the front row and a chyron pointing out retired wrestling legend Goldberg is in attendance tonight. The end.

Goldberg being a mentor role would be awesome and the perfect way to use him, aka the way WWE never ever did
There is a way to use Goldberg and make him presentable, him being in the main event all the time wasn't f***ing it.

Goldberg comes out to a fitting Mikey Rukus theme. Cuts a promo about having dream matches with the future of the business. Danhausen comes out and refers to him as "Burt Gold" and politely tells him to leave "or be cursed". Goldberg laughs and asks "what's the curse". Danhausen hits Goldberg with a jackhammer.
And that's the last we see of Goldberg.

have him mentor Wardlow and show him how to be his own man and break free of MJF This. For that matter, I always thought the Jackhammer was a legit badass finisher. Have him bequeath it to one of the hosses and then be off into the sunset.

Goldberg has two moves, one of which he can't hit consistently, and the stamina of an asthmatic chipmunk.
The only "fantasy booking" I'd do of Glodberg in AEW is "booking" him for a media interview on the opposite end of the country from whatever city AEW happens to be running that night.

Goldberg being a mentor, to me, is such a double edged sword. On one hand, you have a guy who is maybe the archetypical "undefeated streak", "come in, kill, leave" persona and that at least was a major draw back then.. but it's basically the entire concept of his character. Now, if they had the video library like WWE clearly does to go back and reference this stuff.. then thats one thing, but to bring him in now.. and expect that an audience would remember his shit from two decades ago (which admittedly, they probably do. Wrestling fans are so awesome in that we really remember history), could easily fall flat.
Goldberg being active in any in-ring capacity is just a waste of money to me. I'm a fan of the guy. I mentioned in another forum that I'm a fan of Paul Wight and Mark Henry, but signing Goldberg in any role to me is money that could be used best elsewhere. Who's he gonna beat? f***.. who's he gonna lose to? If I'm Tony Khan, obviously I consider this deal but to me the risk vs reward with what you get out of a guy who not only now, but never could go any longer than like five minutes without it being clearly evident that he was gassed is a hard pass to me.
I suppose it would be cool to see Goldberg back on any kind of Turner/Warner platform but I'm pretty sure thats where it ends.

One skit with Danhausen, then retirement. Goldberg appears in a commercial hyping AEW. The first segment back has Tony Khan explaining to Danhausen that he cannot afford his Blimphausen. In the background Goldberg is seen leaving the arena with a sack with a dollar sign on it.

I mean, I guess the logical thing to do would be have him kill Peter Avalon. I just don't want to see it, though.
Somebody floated the idea of Goldberg as like the head coach for somebody and I kind of like that idea. I could see something like that working.

I think Goldberg would be worse. Brock is at least still capable of more things. The thought of AEW becoming "all roads lead to Brock" like current WWE is, I just can't stomach. Brock has ruined WWE for me over the last 6-8 years. At least Goldberg tends to appear in small bursts and is rarely, if ever, the entire focus of the show. I guess Brock is still capable of more in the ring, but he certainly hasn't seemed interested in doing much more than a paint by numbers "Suplex City" match the last few years.
