Thanks for this, didn't know it went up. The new logo still needs to grow on me, but otherwise I dig what we got thus far!

Not crazy about the art style but it's better than 5's.

I'm gonna miss the old string cheese head Luke. New design's slick tho.
Ryu looks eerily like Goro Daimon from KOF now.

Really doubling down on Luke, huh? Well, Ryu looks good anyhow. See how this one develops.

Being fair when they first announced Luke they said he was planned for Street Fighter 6 so feel like this was the plan the whole time. Don't see this character ever actually catching on though, even if this design is a lot less dumb by comparison.

He’s actually one of the most played characters online now, given that he’s probably top tier. The tournament players love Luke because he’s strong. I *barely* won a set against a tough Luke last night in casuals. Now if you mean his lore and story, that’s another topic.

I really hate the logo, which as people have pointed out, looks a lot like Scooby Doo's tag on his collar. It just feels desperate to grab a new audience.
That being said... fighting games are niche, and if they don't also grab casual fans, they die. Furthermore, Street Fighter 5 had a really fraught lifecyle, and Street Fighter lost a lot of ground to increased competition from other fighting games. I'm not even talking about Smash Bros., which ate every fighting games' lunch and is an unfair comparison, but there is a reason Capcom is so collaboration hungry. They want fresh eyes on the franchise, which, that's the way to go, obviously.
I hope they learned their lessons from last time. If this launches without an arcade mode, I'd be pretty shocked, given how that and some other poor priorities cost them dearly last time.

I definitely think this time they'd be better served going multi-console and focusing on shipping a finished game to begin with. SFV shipping with a skeleton crew of a roster and basically nothing to do except play online, entirely so they could cater it to the tournament crowd, was a duuuuumb idea, especially since there is still zero indication that eSports actually do a damn thing for sales. If anything there's actively evidence against that conclusion given MK11 sold crazy well but its competitive scene quickly died a terrible death,

If anything there's actively evidence against that conclusion given MK11 sold crazy well but its competitive scene quickly died a terrible death, I think that you can't safely entirely ignore the competitive scene as a fighting game, since I do think they do a lot to keep the game visible, with streaming, tournaments, etc, but yeah, catering entirely to them is a bad idea, too, since you don't want to make a game that is just obtuse to new players. That being said... I know that Sony threw money at Capcom to put make SF5 happen before they were ready, but it still came off so half-baked. It's a shame, really, since there were some fun decisions made, but also some really dubious ones. Advertising this with beard Ryu at least feels like they took one of the alternate looks people actually liked, rather than "what the f*** happened to you, Alex/Ken??" But yeah, multi-platform would be lovely, as would shipping in a more complete state. I don't mind the idea of updates over time, per se, but they really went a bone-headed route last time.

I'm interested but it doesn't have to take a huge leap to be better than the mess that is Street Fighter 5 for me. So I shall wait and see.

What I’m hoping for is a deeper, better story mode and not just an arcade version but one with way more features. More of the unlockable prizes should be able to be achieved through single player modes, rather than forcing new players to farm for fight money in online versus. And to make sure those newbies aren’t running into high level players right off the bat who just sit on low-rank accounts, the ranking system should be adjusted to something closer to Guilty Gear’s, where you can earn the right and choice to fight that stronger competition if you want.
As far as the attack inputs, I don’t mind if they were simplified, even though while it’d probably help bring in newer players it would be extremely controversial within the Street Fighter “bubble”. Maybe I’d feel different if I was a Zangief main, and also because I’ve played enough fighting games for a while to get accustomed, but I’ve always been comfortable with Capcom’s buttons. Though Smash still has a strong tournament scene with its button style, so I wouldn’t freak out about a little change if it led to a balanced game.
I do feel that SF5 “finished up” as a generally fun game in spite of the weak launch and net code controversy. MDZ Jimmy (a Ryu streamer) made a good point about how SF4 had its critics who insisted it was inferior to Third Strike and that was followed by a generation of SF4 fans who were unhappy about 5’s changes.
A lot of it depends IMO on personal taste and what one grew up with, I guess. 5 is definitely a more offensive and rush down friendly game, which was kind of a reaction to some people feeling 4 closed way too defensively because Elena players would heal and run away, making for tedious spectating. Capcom wanted a game where players could just go ham, so if you like zoning more then SF4 is probably for you.
SF6 I feel can bring back stronger fireballing without losing the aggressiveness. It really needs to address how getting trapped in the corner is often instant death, so I can see projectiles having more pushback which could help.

I absolutely love fighting games, even if I suck at them. My biggest issue with them, though is, that there's usually not a whole lot for me to do once I've finished story mode. I hate playing online as 1.) I have yet to find a fighting game where finding another player online doesn't take ages and 2.) once again, I suck at fighting games, so winning online matches is a rare occasion for me.
So, for a new entry I really need a single player mode that keeps me hooked for a while, like Treasure Battle in Tekken 7.

The game's such a pain in the ass to approach if you haven't already been an expert at it for 20 years and I feel like most other fighting games on the market just feel better to play because they don't needlessly complicate the inputs.

I always welcome a new Street Fighter game.
I just hope they have learnt their lessons from the SF5 release.. Also hoping for a bigger Roster of characters on release.
and not just the Street Fighter 2 Roster + Luke.
