What I’m hoping for is a deeper, better story mode and not just an arcade version but one with way more features. More of the unlockable prizes should be able to be achieved through single player modes, rather than forcing new players to farm for fight money in online versus. And to make sure those newbies aren’t running into high level players right off the bat who just sit on low-rank accounts, the ranking system should be adjusted to something closer to Guilty Gear’s, where you can earn the right and choice to fight that stronger competition if you want. As far as the attack inputs, I don’t mind if they were simplified, even though while it’d probably help bring in newer players it would be extremely controversial within the Street Fighter “bubble”. Maybe I’d feel different if I was a Zangief main, and also because I’ve played enough fighting games for a while to get accustomed, but I’ve always been comfortable with Capcom’s buttons. Though Smash still has a strong tournament scene with its button style, so I wouldn’t freak out about a little change if it led to a balanced game. I do feel that SF5 “finished up” as a generally fun game in spite of the weak launch and net code controversy. MDZ Jimmy (a Ryu streamer) made a good point about how SF4 had its critics who insisted it was inferior to Third Strike and that was followed by a generation of SF4 fans who were unhappy about 5’s changes. A lot of it depends IMO on personal taste and what one grew up with, I guess. 5 is definitely a more offensive and rush down friendly game, which was kind of a reaction to some people feeling 4 closed way too defensively because Elena players would heal and run away, making for tedious spectating. Capcom wanted a game where players could just go ham, so if you like zoning more then SF4 is probably for you. SF6 I feel can bring back stronger fireballing without losing the aggressiveness. It really needs to address how getting trapped in the corner is often instant death, so I can see projectiles having more pushback which could help. In general I feel like Street Fighter's controls desperately need to be simplified. The game's such a pain in the ass to approach if you haven't already been an expert at it for 20 years and I feel like most other fighting games on the market just feel better to play because they don't needlessly complicate the inputs. I could probably get used to something in SF6 like SNK's 4-button inputs, or the Marvel vs. games and the double-tap. Maybe a single one-button special, it's what Riot's doing with that "Project L" thing allegedly. It'd probably spark a spike in sales because of all the press that the FGC/die-hard player's anger would generate. Certain players in particular would explode. But more people are speaking out against the "FGC boomer". Street Fighter can't be too crusty about change, just saying that for some long-timers, they'd need baby steps. There's tutorials for quick DPs and easier 360's but not every kid wants to memorize those.

V did a few things right but a lot more wrong. The game is mostly boring, to me, with the lack of depth. I watch FANG players today doing the same stuff I was doing on day one. Tekken, for example, has so much depth, although its online sucks, too.
If we're talking offline, SFV's probably pretty fun, these days.

The one thing that really irked me about SFV Champion Edition, outside of too many blondes on the roster, was the loss of the original stage select theme. That song was fire, with the globe in the background, it got you hyped. The new one with the lights is just “eh”.

We'll probably see a new boss. Given this looks like (just by how Ryu looks) it takes place potentially after 3, I'm not gonna be surprised if they make someone new up.
Maybe it'll be an older Ed.

Given how much older Ryu looks here, I'm guessing this is going to be well after SF3. I don't know the status of Gill and the Illuminati after SF3, but if it's not them as the bads, then it's someone entirely new.
If it's that far past SF3, I'd love to see this be to the series like what Mark of the Wolves was to Fatal Fury. Have a bunch of "next-generation" characters like Ken's son and Guile's daughter as fighters.

I should think the roster should be focused on most of roster from III, with some characters from IV and V, and then only a few of the classic characters like Ken, Chun-Li, etc.
Characters like Blanka, Cody, Balrog, Vega, Dan, etc. can take a break from this one.

seems weird to announce the next game.. literally 2 months after the last DLC for the last game comes out... seems like you should... like space this shit out a bit? >_> Wait too long and you risk becoming GTA. Hopefully they move past SF III storyline-wise, and don’t just do another interquel.

So, let's say the starting roster is about 20-24 characters: Then we have Ryu, Ken, Chun-Li, Guile, Zangief, Cammy, most of everyone from SFIII (I think we can ditch Twelve and Q can be DLC or something), Luke, and then some IV/V characters like Kolin, Laura, C. Viper, Necalli, Rashid, and Ed, that should be a pretty solid line-up.

I’d do a 25 fighter launch roster like this: SF2 rep: Ryu, Ken, Chun Li, Guile, Cammy, Akuma SF3 rep: Alex (the grappler) Necro (the stretcher, Dhalsim may be either passed or retired), Urien, Elena (one heal per round this time) SF4 rep: Juri, C. Viper SF5 rep: Luke, G Alpha rep: Rose, Sodom Two Capcom guest fighters, maybe like Hagger, or Leon Kennedy if you want to get wild Seven new fighters, including a new final boss I’d like to see Kolin return because she was fun as hell, and some comebacks like Dee Jay who was a bit weak in IV. Give him a fresh, less 90s design and his combo routes back and he’d be awesome again. Characters like Rufus, Fei Long, Rashid and maybe Hugo would be good future DLC.

I'm one of the weirdos who was way more excited about KOF15 than the potential for this. They might be able to get me to play if I can be Hugo again.

Wonder if we will get anymore Rival School Characters. Would be nice if Akira return.
Outside of that maybe Batsu or Kyosuke.. Kyosuke was a nice fit back in Capcom vs SNK 2 and Batsu being RS's main character would be a nice fit.
Hoping for some more SF3 Chars like Alex who at one point was being pushed as the Guy. I think Sean would be a great fit for this game, perhaps slightly older and more mature and doesn't suck at fighting anywhere near as he did in the Sf3 timeline.
A long shot but bring back one of the Characters to have never made it out of Street Fighter 1, I'm thinking Retsu at this point.
I think SF6's roster needs to be at least 25 to 30 Characters on release.

Due to Sakura's popularity I highly doubt she isn't going to be in this game. She's always advertised as much as the Ryu, Ken and Chun-Li when it comes to the SF series. Capcom even had an official character poll and she was #1 out of all SF characters.
She's definitely gonna be in the base game.
If they do 24 characters I feel it'll be similar to this.
- Ryu - Ken - Chun-Li - Cammy - Guile - Zangief - Dhalsim - Sakura - Akuma - Makoto - Elena - Sean - Necro - Viper - Juri - Sodom - Karin - New Character - New Character - New Character - New Character - Ed - Luke - New Boss

When both games were finally done, both SFIV and SFV ended with rosters about the same size, so I imagine SFVI will probably have about 44 to 46 characters when it's finally done, as well, and I imagine the starting roster to be around 24 or so (about the same as console SFIV/SFV with Season 1) But I think they should have only one or two big updates, like SFIV did, and having about 10 additional characters per update.
Starting Roster:
1. Alex 2. C. Viper 3. Cammy 4. Chun-Li 5. Dudley 6. Ed 7. Elena 8. F.A.N.G. 9. G 10. Guile 11. Hugo 12. Ibuki 13. Juri 14. Ken 15. Luke 16. Makoto 17. Necro 18. Oro 19. Remy 20. Rose 21. Ryu 22. Sean 23. Urien 24. Yun & Yang (sharing one spot)
And maybe about 2-3 newbies (I kinda consider Luke to be one)
With Gill as the final boss (who then is unlockable after Story Mode is done). And the first upgrade can bring in more classic characters like Zangief, Dhalsim, Sakura, etc, and maybe another new character or two.

I could see them rolling with G as the main villain since it definitely feels like there's more of a story there than we've seen.

In a surprising move, Capcom will finally set a game in an actual year, confirming VI takes place in 2010. This will also be a hint for the long anticipated and last revealed character for the base game, and I think we all know whom I'm talking about: {Spoiler}
