Between the bad acting and him struggling greatly in the powerbomb spot, I can see why he disappears for weeks on end and doesn't wrestle.
Talk about a rough showing for the smart one of the Jericho Appreciation Station... Or whatever it's called.

Man I really feel like people overblow anything Hager
His acting was no worse or better than any regular wrestler on the roster and Wardlow also botched a powerbomb just this week too, shit happens.
He is a perfectly fine wrestler doing a role that is not above his skill level.

I thought he was mediocre at best back in 2008, and he's never displayed the slightest improvement since then. I remember the Hager/Wardlow match on Dynamite around a year ago; we all know Wardlow's green and he was still so obviously head and shoulders the better performer in literally every aspect.

Dude only had a career because he played football at OU. He was a favor to JR then and a favor to JR now and that powerbomb spot was an embarrassment as was the cover job for it.

He was fine. The Powerbomb was wonky but like... everything else was fine including the way he reacted which was conflicted, but he chose Jericho and chose the new faction
It could have been worse, like way worse.

Dude was pretty over and well receive his first years until they stripped his character Even in WWE as We The People and against rusev ,he as pretty over. And he was a legit amateur wrestler with great background and a great look and size, things Vince loves. JR may have scouted then but it wasnt the only REASON. I`m not saying he is a Main Eventer talent but thsi is the king of overreaction i'm talking about. I do feel like he failed to improve after his WWE run(if anything he regressed).

I don't believe the powerbomb was on him. It looked bad and like a struggle, but deadlifting Eddie Kingston on the apron for a powerbomb table spot isn't exactly a cake walk.
I like he stayed with Jericho. The faction needs a powerhouse and he fits the bill. Jericho's issues weren't with Hager, they were with everyone else. Not sure where else he would fit in right now with AEW's massive absorbtion of powerhouses in recent months.

Hager's role is best when he is a goon heater. He actually can be funny and has popped me a few times. Jericho knows how to get stuff out of him and I will die on the hill that Sammy Hagar was a really fun team dynamic The Powerbomb Spot could have gone worse, it wasnt great, but I don't think it's some grand testament to the dude being awful, it was a botch, Kingston's a heavy dude and he had to deadlift him up on the apron, shit happens.

I will say the cage fight with Wardlow was way better than it had any right to be, but I've never liked Hager even going back to his WWE days. The only time he was ever tolerable for me was when he teamed with Cesaro, and that guy can make a tag team with anyone work. At least he's a heel now.

I am warmer on Jake than a lot of people, but I do think he's honestly outlived his usefulness. He had a place for a time, but I just don't really miss him when he's gone for stretches, and can't really picture anything especially interesting for him left to do in AEW. I don't hate him or anything, but I'm pretty indifferent. Dude only had a career because he played football at OU. He was a favor to JR then and a favor to JR now and that powerbomb spot was an embarrassment as was the cover job for it. Actually, I think Jericho specifically asked for him to be hired for AEW to be his muscle.

Dude’s a bum, off-rip. When I talk about these MC get busy ass dudes getting on tv and they conveniently happen to lack a certain shade while others gotta scrap for tv time, Hager is the poster boy for it, being brutally honest.

You can tell AEW have realized there's not much upside to him ever since he had a snoozefest with MOXLEY. I expect him to be gone by the end of the year.

Couldn't agree more. Seems like a waste to have in the company. Doesn't add much to anything and he's (thankfully) barely around. Money could be well spent elsewhere.

I think he's fine in his role as Jericho's muscle, but there are plenty of people on the AEW roster that could be in that spot and be much better at it than "fine."

I think he's fine in his role as Jericho's muscle, but there are plenty of people on the AEW roster that could be in that spot and be much better at it than "fine." The issue with having someone say like Hobbs or other younger big guy is that there is no plan to have Hager be put over as a big deal, dude is there ti be a heater that is credible as a threat but that there is no plans for. He barely wrestled this year. Its not a position I would want for Keith Lee ,Hobbs, even Cezar. And its not like Wardlow where they are building up a big turn from this, instead that position was for PnP. He is not great in the ring but good enough to sell himself as a threat for people that need it. But yeh I cant really see much for him beyond that.
