Not obscure and it technically did happen, but my two favorite wrestlers ever are Hulk Hogan and Bret Hart. I wish we got a 15-20 minute PPV main event match at some point. As it is the most notable singles match they had was on a Nitro with a bunch of screwy booking.

Raven vs. Windham Rotunda Funny enough, WWE did this match as one of their fantasy warfare videos from a decade ago:

Def should have happened.

Some think after WCW folded if Hart still wrestled he may have made up with Vince sooner. As you referenced Hart/Hogan in 1993 may have been awful. In no small part that would be due to Hogan having so much control. Even in 1998 he could’ve screwed Bret over. In 2002/2003 though Hogan was having some of his most generous matches ever in the US.

I don't think it'd have been awful in ring. But I just don't think Bret beating Hogan would have been good for business. I just don't buy Bret Hart being the guy to beat Hulk, in 93.

I don't think they'd have done it by submission, or even by piledriver, but I could see a crucifix pin or something. It probably would have been like the Warrior match where it'd be clean, but it wouldn't be a "conclusive" victory, since, yeah, that was just realistically how Hogan was handled at the time.

John Cena vs. Minoru Suzuki. Not just because of the constrasts in personalities, but it’d be interesting watching Cena trying to overpower him while Suzuki is pummeling him and breaking him down.

I remember hearing a nonsense rumour of Kobashi vs HHH and it's always stuck with me as something that would've melted my tiny brain. They were both such expressive, emotive wrestlers that mind actually boggles at the mischief they could've pulled off together. Just imagine, Hunter's shit-eating "I'm too smart for this" smirk getting wiped off by Kobashi channeling his inner god, with that expression that was equal parts vengeful as it was pained, and then just blitzing the fool. I've actually just depressed myself at the fact it never happened.

I just thought of two more...
Bret Hart VS Rey Mysterio. The Best Technical Wrestler VS The Best High Flyer? Hook that in my veins. I think Bret and Rey would have created magic.
Vader VS Daniel Bryan. Bryan as the Ultimate Underdog against the Greatest Monster ever? I think it'd have potential to be the greatest in ring match of all time. Lesnar vs Bryan and Flair VS Vader are two of my all time favorite matches, and I feel like this would be a perfect blend of those two matches.
