I would guess about 1986, so… Lawler Rock n Roll Express After that, it depends on if you count guys acting as managers now, and if people like Greg Valentine are still doing indie shots. I too started watching around 1985, and I remember seeing Savio Vega debut in Puerto Rico in ‘87 as TNT

I too started watching around 1985, and I remember seeing Savio Vega debut in Puerto Rico in ‘87 as TNT Wow I knew Savio has been around a long time but I didn't think that long. I saw Savio do a blade job on MLW Azteca a couple months ago in front of literally about 30 people. I felt bad for him.

I started watching real late for my age, insofar as I first caught Judgment Day 2003 staying over at a friend's place, and obviously there's way too many people from 2003 around today to be able to count, but in terms of people just active on that card at least, Rhyno Kendrick, Rene Dupree, Shelton Benjamin, Tajiri, Christian, Dustin Rhodes, and Lesnar are all active in-ring on any sort of consistent basis. Which is pretty decent for a show from twenty years ago.
On the other hand, seeing how many of the card is no longer with us, and in particular how many of those people were gone within only a few years of the show, is a massive bummer.

I'm glad the OP mentioned Rock 'n Roll Express and George South. Both were at the first indy show I attended in (of all places) Lenoir, North Carolina back in January 2005. Dusty Rhodes vs Tully Blanchard was the main event.
I began watching in 04/05 on a weekly basis, although I was running to the living room to watch The Rock as far back as I could walk. There's several, several people still active but it's getting harder to see some hang it up.
WrestleMania 21 was the first Mania I watched live and of those guys: Rey Mysterio - still active Eddie Guerrero - passed later that year Edge - still active, but lost years because of a neck injury Chris Jericho - active in AEW Shelton Benjamin - low on the WWE totem pole Benoit - nuff said Kane - inactive Christian - moved into a manager role Undertaker - retired Randy Orton - still active, definitely best longevity of anyone on the list in terms of active competitors today Trish Stratus - retired Christy Hemme - does she have a podcast now? Kurt Angle - retired Shawn Michaels - retired Big Show - basically retired John Cena - part time, basically in Hollywood and not WWE JBL - retired Batista - retired Triple H - just retired
It's crazy to think in 17 years time, that's what we're looking at now. Makes me feel old.

Oof. I have to start by thinking about who is still ALIVE from when I started watching. I doubt any of them are still active. Same... I guess when I came back to wrestling would be easier... but... I started watching at the height of Hulkamania... and I think they're all retired.... hell closest I could probably cheat with was Taker who just retired. Lawler I suppose was active but I didn't see until way later since he was in Memphis...

So guys from my first show?
I don’t think any. Mania 5. Is Hefner still refereeing in Impact? He may be the only one.

From the first show I remember watching live (WM8) Bushwhacker Luke still wrestles at 74.
Undertaker, HBK, Flair and Rougeau from that show are retired but at least one of them will do a one or two match comeback.

Haha, the first live card I went to was local (my pop took me) and Mike Jackson main evented. Mike is still active at 70-something and … a friend of mine who trained for a year and started up right before the pandemic is now traveling with him and tag-team partner with him! I haven’t been able to get out to see them yet but need to do so soon. Action Mike Jackson was the first I thought of when I saw the question. Who else from 79 is still going? Was Ricky Morton or Robert Gibson wrestling in 79? Jerry Lawler,Bill Dundee and Jimmy Valiant still wrestle and pretty sure all of them were active in 79.

From 1992? Sting & Dustin Rhodes are the only 2 I can think of, unless you count Vinny Mac.

I'd seen some WWF stuff around '91 but in terms of arcade games and pictures.
First show I ever actually watched was WCW Worldwide around '93, so...I guess Sting and Dustin Rhodes.
And Austin just had a match, not active, but noteworthy.

Jericho, Mysterio, Dustin, Edge and Christian I guess, really just people who would've been around in late 1998.

1974 in Canada, so
VKM Jerry Lawler Jimmy Valiant Greg Valentine
are all still alive, but VKM is the only one I know of who wrestled (and I use the term loosely for the Pat Macafee match, his part of it anyway). The only one of them I remember seeing at the Maple Leaf gardens was Greg a few years later

If we're talking like Mid 80's... - Marty Jannetty still wrestles indies - Wardlord and Barbarian still do Powers of Pain - I think Demolition still do limited dates - Hacksaw Jim Duggan is not retired - Greg Valentine still works indies - Rock n Roll Express are still active - Nasty Boys I think are still around - 2 Cold Scorpio might've been a touch later but he still wrestles - Great Muta/Kenji Mutoh was very recently just a champion but vacated it due to injury - Aja Kong still wrestles - There are a ton of Luchadores from this era that refuse to retire lol - Kevin Sullivan I think still wrestles or is at least still active on the scene.

I was basically born into watching WWF through my parents. Still have an old tape from 1983 somewhere. I guess no too many guys, then.
