Apparently the original plan was to have that Roman promo open the show and that Cody promo close the show. Think that would have gone better? I fear Cody may have been needlessly rushed at the end and couldn't hold the crowd perfectly if faced with those end of the show time constraints. It probably would have been much better.

Gang, what if they did their best and that's just genuinely their best at this point? I mean just looking at either night of Mania and it kinda proves they know they could do better... I'm not even saying they have to go balls to the wall... but... outside of Veer who showed up for like 10 seconds in a post match beatdown... (which seriously... he was hyped to be coming shouldn't he have had a match?) what really happened tonight that was a surprise... or something big to kick off what is basically the WWE's new season? Cody making his intentions known. MVP turning on a now super-face genuine reaction Bobby. Yeah, that's all I got.

Good job giving the new eyes who tuned in for Mania and hearing all the positive response you had a reason to keep watching weekly.
Oh shit nvm.

I fear Cody may have been needlessly rushed at the end and couldn't hold the crowd perfectly if faced with those end of the show time constraints. The crowd seemed pretty out of it in general but I feel like if they saved Cody for the end, his reaction would have been worse because that crowd would have had to endure three hours of RAW. It was smarter to have him first Roman ending the night with "SEE YOU ON SMACKDOWN LOL" however, was bad, really effing bad. If he's hurt, then just say he's hurt... but they might be worried he has to vacate the belts if he's REALLY hurt...

I’d be so much more interested in these survival dudes if they had self-filming like Survivorman and not a professional TV crew filming their adventure.

There have been better RAWs, better RAW's with better matches too ring work wise A lot of disaster booking tonight, teams threatening to break up or breaking up, turning and weird gimmick changes with no explanation, guys like Balor continuing to job out, not really a fan of that shit, wasn't great to me RAW After Mania deserved better than this This year? In 2022? I guess my issue with every other Raw this year is that nothing of consequence happened since nothing matters and tonight felt like some things actually happened. Yeah but what happened wasn't GOOD to me, it was confusing and didn't exactly make me excited for the future... And yes, RK Bro and Alpha Academy's segments alone have made some RAW's better than this one imo

It feels like they punted all the big stuff to Smackdown and next Monday since the college basketball game is going kill their ratings tonight. It'd make sense for at least half the show since the game didn't start until midway through the second hour.

I am still not done with last week’s Weekly Column, but I guaran-damn-tee that it will be done tomorrow before NXT.
Here’s my Raw Thoughts. Good recap of WrestleMania, but it was way too long. There's no need for a 5-minute recap especially since everyone that are watching Raw saw both nights of Mania. I don’t do my facts live any more, but I had to share this: Tonight was the 1st time that Cody Rhodes appeared on Raw since a Battle Royal on May 2, 2016. The other wrestlers in that Battle Royal that are still in WWE are Apollo Crews, Baron Corbin, Sheamus, & Dolph Ziggler. Thank you, Cody Rhodes, for making me cry talking about Dusty Rhodes. What a promo. It hit all the emotions. I can't wait to follow Cody's journey back in WWE. Seth Rollins coming out and Cody shaking his hand was interesting. Finn Balor & RK-Bro VS Austin Theory & The Usos will be a fun 6-Man Tag. I don't care that the Usos are on Smackdown. It's still WrestleMania Season. Theory & Usos worked well together on Smackdown last week. Sasha Banks & Naomi VS Rhea Ripley & Liv Morgan was great. I loved both teams' double team maneuvers. I wouldn't mind more between these 2 teams. And it was good that Champions actually won a Non-Title Match for a change. Also, it was very interesting that they are already teasing dissension between Rhea & Liv. I hope that this is a start of a new focus on the Women’s Tag Team Division. Fun Kevin Owens promo. When I saw Ezekiel on the Tron, I thought it was the return of Ezekiel Jackson, but instead it’s Elias as Elias’ younger brother. What a stupid gimmick. He should have just returned as he was. But if he's feuding with Owens, then it could be fun since Owens makes everything great. Isn't the Raw after WrestleMania supposed to be the night where new feuds start? Why are they doing Dominik Mysterio VS The Miz for a 3rd time? Dominik Mysterio VS The Miz was a waste of time. What was the point? But Veer Mahaan is here to destroy Dominik & Rey Mysterio. Now, the world can see how good he is since no one has watched Main Event over the last 9 weeks or late last year like I have. Excellent promo by Bianca Belair. It was really heartfelt. I thought that someone would come out to set-up her next feud, but I'm glad that she got the spotlight for herself. Bron Breakker VS Dolph Ziggler was awesome and better than their Stand And Deliver Match. I love that they didn't do the NXT Championship Change at Stand & Deliver & saved it for Raw to make it more special & unique. (1st ever NXT Title Change on Raw in History) Why are wrestling fans so fickle? They didn't want Ziggler as NXT Champ. Now, he's no longer Champ and people are still mad that Breakker won the title. Tonight's win on Raw makes his title win different than any other on NXT History. Just relax & enjoy the moment. I had a feeling that MVP would turn on Bobby Lashley. Stevie Wonder saw that coming. MVP is better with Omos. Lashley can talk. Omos is horrendous on the microphone. He needs someone like MVP to talk for him. Stupid segment with Liv Morgan & Rhea Ripley. They lost a Champion's Contender's Match. They shouldn't be allowed to get a Women's Tag Title Match next week. It doesn't make sense at all. What's the point of having these matches if losers can get title matches whenever they want? Good segment breaking up Carmella & Queen Zelina. I thought someone was going to attack Corey Graves on Zelina's behalf so Graves can wrestle. I'm so happy that I don't do my records & didn't waste my time setting up their match with Shayna Baszler & Natalya. Randy Orton’s 18th WrestleMania Appearance isn't historical when Undertaker (27), Triple H (23), & Kane (21) have been in more Mania matches. Finn Balor & RK-Bro VS Austin Theory & The Usos was an incredible match, but it is not a big deal that Theory pinned Balor. He has pinned him a lot including last week on Smackdown. Excellent promo by Edge. I love Damian Priest with him as his punishment for the guilty playing off his prior name Punishment Martinez. I don't mind the feud continuing with AJ Styles. Nice double team move. Nice chant for Jamie Noble. The Street Profits VS The Alpha Academy again? Enough with this match. Raw needs new teams. I'm tired of the same matches over & over no matter how good they are. At least they changed it up a big by doing a Texas Tornado Match in Texas. Forget what I said earlier about being tired of seeing The Street Profits VS The Alpha Academy. That was an incredible match. Love the Frog Splash through the table. Ford is going to be a huge star one day on his own. AJ Styles VS Damian Priest & Rey Mysterio VS Veer Mahaan next week. Veer has been wrestling against small guys on Main Event & he was great, so this should be good. I don't want to see the Women's Tag Title Match as Rhea & Liv shouldn't get a title shot after losing earlier. Roman Reigns looks like he's in pain with his shoulder. I hope he's just selling and if it is a real injury, it's not that bad. Luckily he doesn't wrestle on a weekly basis and has until WrestleMania Backlash to recover. Paul Heyman is awesome. He can sell sand to a fish. (I know it doesn't make sense, but I can't think of an analogy right now. It's been a long weekend.) Great promo by Roman Reigns to get people to tune in to Smackdown. It wasn't so much a Post-WrestleMania Raw with only the returns of Elias, Cody Rhodes, & Veer Mahaan & the NXT Title Change, but I still enjoyed it. The matches were great, the promos were great, & storylines progressed or started.

Stuff didn't go truly downhill until the Omos/Lashley segment imo

Ending Raw after Mania with this, sums up the creative in the company. Namely, it sucks.

I dont mind the champion talking his shit and saying tune into Smackdown. I just wouldn't have done it last. They should have opened with Roman and closed with Cody. It would have made it a lot better.

The lack of Tozawa and Tamina wedding planning on this show was disappointing.

Cody: *heartfelt promo about coming back, his late father, his dream of winning a world title in WWE*
Roman: "The promotion from our partners at Fox and NBCU leading into it and the number of conversations we have engaged in subsequent for the Peacock partnership announcement. And coming off of the subscriber and viewership success of WrestleMania that was delivered to Peacock, we're excited about possibly replicating the licensing of WWE's network to potential streaming partners in key international territories. It's a story we're sharing with the international community as we introduced WWE Network to potential partners across the globe.
If you look at the success that we're having with our Tencent deal in China, we've seen a 30 times increase in views across all platforms in China, since striking this deal, with 30% of that coming from the viewership on Tencent. We look at the success we continue to have in India and the United Kingdom, we're excited to replicate that and to grow it further. Of course, content rights are not our only revenue focus, we're always looking at new streams of revenue.
On April 10, our first day of WrestleMania, we dropped our first NFT, featuring iconic moments from the Undertaker's legendary WWE career. Many of these sold out in seconds. We were thrilled with our first foray into this space. Considering our vast library of wholly owned intellectual property, look for more NFTs from us in the near future. In this quarter, we also made a key deal in the gambling space. Stephanie is going to provide background on that deal later as well.
As we continue to expand WWE's brand beyond the ring, we remain focused on developing the slate of original programing from our WWE Studio. We've sold a multi-episode animated series to Crunchyroll, which, as all of you know, is now owned by Sony, Young rock, which we've talked about previously, chronicles the real life journey of Dwayne Johnson from childhood to WWE legend and beyond. They debuted on NBC and it's doing significant business on NBC and with rears on USA and Peacock."

Hey guys…remember when on Raws after Mania we’d get Goldberg destroying Rock and Lesnar destroying Cena?
We coulda had Veer destroying Roman.
Damn this company for denying us greatness.

I'm taking hte night off... see ya losers would have worked a hell of a lot better than waiting to the end of the show...

If Bobby Lost to Omos without MVP There it would at least make sense. I see where you're coming from BUT, some logic *could* be mined from this. MVP could see the potential in Omos and realize he needs guidance. Omos coming off of his first loss is him at his most vulnerable for MVP to take advantage of. Lashley told MVP he didn't need him at ringside, which MVP has taken as an unforgivable sign of disrespect. Now, MVP believes he was *the* key to Lashley's success, so he's aligning with a motivated and guideless Omos to do his bidding.
