Recent years have shown how much you can work around serious limitations for single events. So at WrestleMania 39, I'd have a 'Mount Rushmore 4-Way Retirement Match'...
Ric Flair vs Hulk Hogan vs Steve Austin vs John Cena.
People will roll their eyes, but I'm totally serious. Best of the territories vs Best of the '80s vs Best of the '90s vs Best of the 21st century. Having four in there would cover up many of the obvious weaknesses and I wouldn't want anything complicated or even with any psychology really. Short match where everyone gets a couple of their classic spots before retiring for good.
- Flair chops all three, then low blows Austin and puts him in the Figure 4
- Figure 4 interrupted by Cena hitting the 5 knuckle shuffle on them both. As Flair gets up, Cena hits him with then flying shoulder block
- Cena celebrates straight into a Hogan punch and then bodyslam
- Austin then hits Hulk with a Thesz Press, but Hogan no sells it, hulks up and punches Austin three times
- Austin catches the third punch, spins Hogan around and hits him with a Stunner for the win
10 minutes for entrances, 3 minutes for the match, 2 minutes for post-match celebrations. It would get 1 star from Meltzer, but it would be a fun 15 minutes and a nice way to wrap up some amazing careers once and for all.
