That MizTV segment where he kept correcting Cody on the proper vernacular to use...... It's not a belt it's a title/championship!!!! We don't have wrestlers we have superstars!!!
So damn goofy.

It's kinda perfect though. Miz prides himself as being the WWE PR guy, he's going to know all the terms and vocabulary they're supposed to use. Correcting Cody was perfect because he's showing him he can't just wander into another wrestling company and do what he normally does. WWE is different and Cody needs to know that.

I think that was the intention.
He's supposed to be a Corporate kiss ass. It's basically what his whole feud with Bryan was about. "You're a boring wrestler and I'm a WWE Superstar"
Besides all that, Miz is stale as shit and has been for the past 6 years or so now. Pretty much nothing he does interests me.

I agree, but would add its been that way for me for... 16 years now. 16 years. Like if Outback Jack was still around for WrestleMania 20...

Hyping him up as an outsider and having him push the envelope on that is a good way to a) make Cody seem like a bigger deal and b) be a nice way to tell AEW talent who might sign “Hey, we’re going to let you be you a bit more than others because you’re actually TV ready talent and people know who you are”.

Cody being such an outsider is such a breath of fresh air. And it makes sense marketing wise too. Like, the people were chanting his name weekly before WrestleMania, they know who he is. He’s not a nobody. You might as well bring him wholesale like he was in AEW because that’s what fans would expect. It also adds a character for someone like a Miz or a Seth to play off considering their public stances on things.

It was amusing seeing all the online outrage about Miz being Cody’s second opponent even though he served the perfect role; being an upper mid card heel for Cody to get cheered against and defeat.

Yeah? It draws a line in Cody being "outside of the WWE" for six years while Miz has been loyal his whole career.

Yeah, if Miz was his first feud, I’d get it and it’d feel like a waste but it clearly wasn’t going to be so it was weird that it happened and the people trying to defend Miz too (not here but other places).

As exhausting as Cody discourse online has already been the past year or so it’s going to be even worse the next few years. There are a lot of people who were that “angry face hidden by smiling face mask” meme acting happy for Cody at Wrestlemania but really are desperate for him to fail and will pounce on any chance they can to question him. As bitter as it is I almost respect more the people who are upfront about it and fully admit they’d love to see him fall flat on his face and regret signing.

I still think Miz would have made a good corporate champion during the Authority storyline. At least a damn sight better than Sheamus.

I still think Miz would have made a good corporate champion during the Authority storyline. At least a damn sight better than Sheamus. I wouldn’t be the first person ever to suggest this but he should have got the Jinder push in 2017 after the great job he done on Smackdown following the new brand split. Imagine him holding the title into early 2018 when Bryan came out of retirement and how hot that feud would have been going into Wrestlemania after all the Talking Smack stuff and taunting Miz was doing throughout Bryan’s retirement years. Instead they waited too long to do it and by then it felt like a midcard feud with little heat, probably because no one bought the genuine hatred anymore seeing as they had been on the same show wrestling for months by that point and never even attempted to get to each other. Miz should have been Bryan’s first target upon returning, both for storyline purposes and also just being one of the easiest/safest guys for Bryan to work with.

Honestly Miz has always been so great at being a heel. I really think people dislike him because the internet says they're supposed to.

I wish The Mix would stop using Rice Flair's finisher.
The protege character is one I'd like to block out of memory.
