Feels like Cody won't get the title until Wrestlemania so he can get a Wrestlemania title win moment. Meanwhile the other 364 days of the year are useless filler. The constant, "Things are only allowed to happen at WrestleMania," approach WWE takes in recent years is part of why the company's so shit. It's not even entirely new... like it's the biggest reason why Luger's Lex Express run failed so spectacularly. Had they ended it at Summerslam as originally intended and moved on it would have worked at least short term... but no Vince thought he could unnaturally stretch it out to Wrestlemania and it completely ran out of steam. not everything needs to be a big Wrestlemania cap off... big things happening on B and C shows make them sound unpredictable and can't miss... waiting for Mania makes literally everything else pointless.

The constant, "Things are only allowed to happen at WrestleMania," approach WWE takes in recent years is part of why the company's so shit. Is that really the approach taken though? Title changes happen all year long, story developments take place all year long.
