Silver Age Superman comics are a clinic in how to write for an OP character. Instead of focusing on "Can Superman beat _____?" which, of course, we know he can, they shift the focus to "Can Superman beat ______ without revealing his secret ID?" or "Can Superman beat ______ and still make it back to Metropolis in time for his date with Lois?" or "Can Superman beat ______ even though red kryptonite has turned him into a giant dung beetle?"

Superman and it's my hill to die on Quite a few DC Characters are fun and hilariously busted. Wally West Post-Crisis Flash, anyone?

Doctor Manhattan is so powerful that he can walk around all day with his schlong out and nobody can make him put on a pair of pants.

Doctor Manhattan is a good shout. Of new school stuff, I really like Gojo in Jujutsu Kaisen.

Medaka from Medaka Box is the best take and spoof on the concept of an OP Character

Every other Light Novel protagonist Bonus points if it's an Isekai.
Two of my favorites.
Touya Mochizuki (In Another World with my Smartphone) (The show isn't good, but I think it's ultimately harmless, like bubblegum)
Maple (BOFURI: I don't want to get hurt so I max out my defense) (Same as Smartphone, but it's not a harem power fantasy.)

Two pages in and nobody's mentioned Alucard? The dude's a f***mothering vampire and the Manga author had to strand him on a boat because he was an instant win button.

Pretty much all of the bad guys in Overlord are so overpowered it kind of ruins the experience (for me). But I guess them being OP as hell is kind of the point as I believe that bit is a dig at buying cash shop items. Ainz literally paid to win, after all.

I guess Superman but I really don't see him as over-powered. He's powerful, but in most of his stories he has to struggle as much as any A-list superhero to overcome his obstacles, and when he's part of a team-up he very seldom is he shown as being that much better than anyone else.

The trick with Superman is writing the balance. Yes, he has moments like you said...but then in another panel in a different official comic, he's idly moving an entire planet by himself to get it out of harms way of something. It's a residual effect of the power boosting he was given starting when the first Captain Marvel (now Shazam) comic came out, really. Good writers know how to balance him out for situations, and when to let him loose (see the "World of Cardboard" speech from the last episode of Justice League Unlimited).

Good writers know how to balance him out for situations, and when to let him loose (see the "World of Cardboard" speech from the last episode of Justice League Unlimited). And a lot of Superman’s obstacles in his stronger stories revolve about him trying to solve a moral dilemma, like the government related headaches on his hunger mission in Peace On Earth. Plots where it’s “can he save these people in time” as opposed to always measuring him on a Goku type power scale.

John Matrix. Commando is hilarious precisely because a bunch of goons and an entire small army are ridiculously outmatched against Swarzenegger on his lonesome.
