I said Day One of the name change that it would work so I'm not surprised. Yeah a weird change, yeah he didn't need his name changed but this will benefit him in the long run due to the type of name it is. It's a name that's got this uniqueness that catches on. It he were named something like "Bryan Callahan" or something that wouldn't work.

I think that was against Sami somewhere in Europe? I mean if he's going to be over somewhere, it better be there. You can't really tell if it's working until he's back stateside.

Credit to Pete Dunne for making something out of nothing. He could've been buried after this, but to make it work, he's a star.
Can't wait until he's released and can do some epic stuff under the Pete Dunne name on another show.

Pete Dunne is incredibly good at being a TV dog. Seriously there should be a whole Smackdown built around Butch climbing up a tree while Sheamus and Ridge try to get him down.

When he turns face I think he should keep the Butch name in some way & be called Pete "Butch" Dunne or Butch Dunne He's one of my absolute favorite guys to watch in the ring, but I agree he was probably never going to catch on as Great Wrestler Pete Dunne on the main roster. He's trying to have fun with it, too, and I think that goes a long way. |

Dunne’s found the absolute sweet spot of letting it be known he thinks it’s kind of dumb and committing to it. He’s not being meta, he’s not going too far over the top, he just found the exact perfect level of Butch to make it work.
