Now with Roman possibly leaving after mania 39, do they still do this match? No matter what, it will generate a lot of money, but who would go over? Maybe reigns since you can bring him back on the Cena schedule

..yes. Think it works either way. Could make it a two match program or a one and done where Roman goes over. Rock ain’t no spring chicken with a bunch of down time.

I think they are going to try their damndest to do the match assuming Rock has the time
Seems like all parties wants it, just a matter of it coming together
I think Roman goes over tho it doesn't really matter who does.

If they don't then it'll be in a movie or something tbh.

I think they are going to try their damndest to do the match assuming Rock has the time Pretty much. It does feel like his team and WWE want to do a deal, NBC wouldn't have let them hype something up on network television if they didn't, it's all a matter of making sure all the chips are down and Universal, Warner Bros, Netflix etc are all happy with it because a lot could happen that knocks it completely off course (the rumor is Red Notice 2 is starting production in early 2023, a Black Adam 2 if the first one does well this summer, Universal pull off a miracle and get Vin Diesal and The Rock on good terms to have him in Fast X etc). I'm saying the chances are 70% but that other 30% is too big for comfort for them not to get something sorted ASAP.

Yea basically everything has to align itself right for it to work tho it is not from lack of effort WWE would be over the moon to have it happen but the networks are shitting on themselves hoping Rock doesn't get injured. Just a lot of moving parts including him having to train and get in ring shape which will take time as well as still continue to do his own business and not neglect that

If it doesn't work out, they'll be potentially nobody you could put in that spot that would get a 10th of the attention Rock could and you'll potentially have a situation where (even though the event will sell and do well for various other reasons regardless), you'll have to be out there going "We couldn't get The Rock but...look! We sold more than the Super Bowl over 2 days! LOOK AT THE SOCIAL MEDIA!!"

I think they'll try but circumstances will go against them and they won't be able to manage it.
So voted no.

I’m saying no…just feels like they’d be starting things by now.

I just think Rock won't be able to do it either due to time or due to an injury in training. His last real match was 9 years ago and he got hurt in the process. I'm sure he wants to do it but waiting and doing are two different stories.

I think they really really want to... but... I have a feeling with how busy Rock is and how last time they had to delay shooting for multiple months? I see it much more likely it doesn't than it does.

With all the teasing, not to mention the little spot on Young Rock, fans will be disappointed if this match doesn't happen. Plus, it's in Hollywood, which has been synonymous with The Rock since '03.
You can't put Reigns against any other wrestler at WrestleMania next year to propel him as the "greatest world champion of all-time" and the "Head of the Table." It has to be The Rock.

I’m absolutely going (I have to go to at least one WM) and I was thinking of only going to night 1 but Roman/Rock will absolutely be a huge match.

I thought of making a trip to Dallas in the instance The Rock showed up on Night 2. It would be that big. Who else could he theoretically wrestle? There's no one. And this makes the 1,000 day reign of Roman Reigns worth it. That's the climax of his reign.

From a Vince standpoint, I wouldn't be surprised.
From a "Rock's a famous actor who already had a serious injury that put his schedule on hold once and has a ridiculous filming schedule" perspective, i'd be amazed

And the Rock match will be when someone actually could believably beat him. So it’ll be a moment. But if I go and Roman wins, pfffftt..

He has to be the greatest champion in his family's lineage. The most likely time for Reigns to lose the title is SummerSlam 2023. WWE has about 14-15 months to build someone up to take down Reigns.

If it does happen it's going to end in two moves because Rock isn't risking getting hurt again.
And honestly I can't fathom why anyone would actually want to watch it. Rock wasn't even particularly good in the ring in his prime.
