Onward to semi-final 2!
It’s definitely the stronger group, I think.

That semi final was great.
Portugal and Holland were the best IMO.

I kinda feel like it's pretty obvious who will win this year and why, so I'm not as excited as usual for it.
But my friends and I will still play our usual drinking game with the scores this weekend.

Won't be able to watch semi-final 2 live due to work, but will post my thoughts later.
My favorite songs from this heat are from Sweden, Ireland, Cyprus, and Czech Republic.

Looking a the titles, my ballad sense is tingling. I'll be watching voting and thinking of Subwoolfer.

The Rasmus have still got it. Think I preferred the staging to the song, but the audience seemed into it.

Israel feels like a song from RuPaul's drag race where the contestant who's uncertain of their ability nails it in the final performance.

When I say the uk should know their audience when choosing acts, San Marino is exactly what i mean. It may not win but it sure is memorable!

These voting results were just . . . yikes. It's definitely a year for ballads, huh?
Other thoughts:
*San Marino ruled. Prime example of making a so-so song better with the performance.
*I'm kinda happy Malta didn't qualify after the BS rule in their national selection of "You voted for the artist, not the song" which lead them to replace the original song the public actually voted for with this generic inspirational filler.
*Damn, Cyprus flopped on the live vocal, even with nice Little Mermaid staging. At least the Greek jury won't be able to give them max points in the Grand Final!
*I'll say it: Ireland was ROBBED. Brooke improved her performance so much since the national selection. She slayed.
*This is the first Swedish entry in awhile that I think actually deserves the praise and high betting odds.

Also, I think there's a good chance we'll see the UK and/or Spain get their best result in years.

Kinda shocked Israel never made it, decent song and performance that was exactly the kind of thing that gets through most years, Ireland too. Guess all the UK votes went to Australia.
