I hesitate to mention it, because there’s so much that can happen in roughly two years. But, since he keeps mentioning it…
Well. Is that exactly what’s gonna happen?
I don’t want it to happen. There’s so much story left for him that can’t be covered, given AEW’s leisurely pacing and progression, in two years. I think he will, though. I think you see him posing with the WWE title just a few years back and there’s no way he doesn’t give it a try. I don’t think he’s purely kayfabing when he says it’s on his mind. Best case scenario: he signs a brief extension with AEW and leaves in 2025 or 2026 or something. That’s what I’m voting for.
Another case scenario: WWE looks vastly different in two years, making it a less attractive option. I don’t think it depends too greatly on how someone like Cody is booked, unless they really mess that up.

I personally don't think so, but pretty much everybody has said that MJF has all intentions of listening to all offers.
I think by 2024 AEW will be offering bigger contracts as well so money won't be as big of an issue (and really if the Khans wanted to, they could offer a lot more than Vince)

He'll listen to offers, but I really don't think he will ever be able to be himself in WWE like he can be in AEW
He's one of those dudes I can see WWE coveting, but also someone who I feel could be an AEW lifer if cards are played right

He's mentioning WWE to get more leverage in contract negotiations with Tony Khan. And so he should, dude is one of the pillars of the company and a great performer, and the Khans are minted.

Highly doubt it, at least looking at it this far out. The only reason he keeps bringing it up is because it’s easy heat.

He might.
By then, he'll be pretty stale unless they do a face turn with him, but he's a guy I will just never see being a face.
By then, people here might be begging for him to leave.

The only thing I’m sure of is that MJF will be getting a huge bag of money in 2024.

He'll go for whoever pays him the most money and whoever gives him the most perks. If WWE throws a Lesnar level bag at him and gives him all this stuff yeah then he'd do it. Nobody's a "hey this person won't go because of-" case anymore after Cody left. He was like the main guy people were saying would never go back regardless of what excuses were given out and he went.
MJF is smart, he knows what he's doing.

They can write him as a face, but the guy will just never be a face as far as I'm concerned. Natural heel. Face of a heel.

He's young enough that he could do some years in WWE for the big money and the fame and still have many years ahead of him.

I think he will go. He’s starting to feel like a big fish in a small pond, and I say that as a huge AEW fan. A lot can happen in two years though. I just feel like he’ll crave the bigger stage like Cody.

I don’t think he’s likely to leave. While he’d do well in WWE, I’d think he knows that the level of creative freedom wouldn’t be the same. And I also think Tony Khan knows he’s going to have to pay him whatever it takes to keep him.

No, I think he stays a little bit longer if AEW pays him enough.

Eventually but not in 2024. Hell I'd be stunned if they didn't already have a deal worked out and are working people because the easy heat it brings.
Also, wasn't it originally his deal was up in 2023? Three year deals with one year extension possible?

Obviously, things can change, but it may be worth it for him to go to WWE by that point.
Gets him away from AEW for a while so he doesn't get stale to that crowd. Gets him on a bigger stage with possibly more money, which raises his stature and asking price.
And if the WWE botches using him, he has a ready made "I've been to the top of the mountain, and the view sucks!" return promo ready to go.
Or even better, if he decided to leave WWE at the end of whatever contract, he could go with "I made it to the biggest company in the world, and when I left, it was MY choice. They wanted to keep me. The biggest company in the world, and I had the power to tell them "No!"

I don’t think so. MJF saying he is leaving in 2024 is a great way to draw heat in any AEW crowd. Plus imagine if MJF is champ come then? Got a “Summer of Punk” style heel run. To me it’s just a great addition to his character that of course AEW crowds will boo.
