For some reason, I totally missed that this was nine and not six episodes. Nice! Yeah, they’re doing 30 minute episodes for this. It’s essentially a sitcom from what I’ve read. And the reviews coming in say it’s excellent The runtimes are being cited as one of the reasons why, in that it actually feels like a TV show rather than a movie that's been arbitrarily hacked up into six pieces.

That’s been my biggest complaint against the MCU shows, is because of the way they film and edit them the pacing is all over the place. Which would be fine if D+ did binge drops but when you’re dealing with a weekly release cycle it definitely detracts from the show. I should go back and re-watch some of the prior series to see if being able to binge a season helps make it flow smoother.

I noticed in the car crash scene that when the bag of Cheetos goes flying, Bruce had been eating them with a pair of chop sticks

Guy I'm in a discord with posted a tweet complaining that this show will {Spoiler}{Spoiler}explore a lighter side of Matt Murdock And its like, of course it will? It fits the tone of the show? Why do you need him to ALWAYS be dark and brooding jesus. If they can handle Batman Brave and the Bold and LEGO Batman, they can handle this. But I am prepared for the YouTube chud click bait videos.

But I am prepared for the YouTube chud click bait videos. But aren't the characters of the MCU always showing the sunnier, funner side of themselves? When it comes to adapting storylines from the comics, why not do Iron Man struggling with his alcoholism or the Hulk realizing his anger results from his history of child abuse. Or when the movies do something serious, like Thor having PTSD in Endgame, it's played for jokes about his weight and then quickly abandoned in his next solo movie. So why does the MCU always need to be lighter jesus when it comes to Daredevil? Why take away the characteristics that make the character who and what he is all in order so that Matt Murdock fits better in the MCU? Which are reasons why people liked the Netflix show in the first place, and why people liked Charlie Cox as Daredevil from the Netflix show and why they wanted him cast as Daredevil for the MCU. But then to seemingly get rid of the things that brought Cox, the actor, and Matt, the character, to the dance that is the MCU is very odd.

And that will all likely be in the Daredevil show. But She-Hulk isn't tone appropriate for that thing either. Not that sitcoms can't have serious moments. But there's a time and place for it lest you run into the "a very special episode" cliche.
And it's not like Matt hasn't had his lighthearted moments in the comics either.

Daredevil has had it's share of goofball arcs and characters.
Stilt Man and Matador for example

I imagine Matt will have something of a straight man role in this. He won't be the "weight of the world on his shoulders" Matt from the Netflix show, but I doubt they'll have him straight up acting a goof either.

Note that I largely agree with your criticisms of the MCU, even if it personally doesn't bother me and I like the wisecracks, I acknowledge that its a problem. But the thing is, this is She-Hulk. This is Daredevil guesting on She-Hulk's show. Of course its going to explore his lighter side.

I mean, what's the point of review bombing anything, particularly before it's even released?

People seem upset about this one. Thoughts? It could have been fun. But if the writers were not up to writing a multi episode trial then is best they pivoted away. Maybe add someone who could guide them and try it next season.

Yeah, I'm presuming the first season is more about Shulky coming to terms with being a reluctant superhero and finding the balance between her conflicting halves. Let the second season have more focus on her being the legal whiz.

She never said that they were not able to write a show about a lawyer, just that they were not up to writing a multi episode trial. Now that they have some more experience they may try later.
