His ECW run was terrific. Even his initial main roster stuff was fine. But then they just went sideways with him. His face turn/feud with Rusev was such a blown opportunity. I get that Rusev "had" to win the feud but they could have found a way to not make Swagger look like such a failure Funny thing is they had a perfect opportunity at Summerslam to give Swagger a win and put him over while at the same time protecting Rusev as it was a Flag Match. If they had just done a Flag Match where you had to win by grabbing your flag off the pole they could've Swagger go over without Rusev having to get pinned. However they ended up just doing it regular match with the winner waving his flag and there was no way Swagger was winning that. Yeah. I'd have had Swagger win that match as you described, and Rusev win the blowoff match. 'Least that way Swagger has some shred of credibility going forward from there.

They didn't give him much to work with. When they have him ride on the back of a coffin being dragged by a police car being driven by the Big Boss Man to help build up his first PPV Title Defense, then his title run was doomed from the start.

There's been plenty in recent years, most of which are "thank you" reigns that never provide growth and development for the person who is carrying it. Kofi Kingston Big E Bray Wyatt Jack Swagger Braun Strowman Dolph Ziggler All of whom were no better or worse for being champion. Nothing really changed for them. Kofi Kingston did have one of the greatest WM moments of all time when he beat Bryan Danielson in 2019, which automatically puts his reign on a different level to those of the five other dudes mentioned. And he did beat Randy Orton during his reign.

As many times as the legendary Vacant has held the title, I can't for the life of me, remember anything memorable about any of their reigns.

And he did beat Randy Orton during his reign. And now he's essentially back to where he was before his push, which is the definition of a "thank you" run. It doesn't matter who he beat or when it happened considering he's not much better off than he was before.

We counting 24 hour reigns? If so, I'll go with mankind's second wwf title reign in 1999.

That matters.

I hate to say it but
Several by Cena if not most Several by Hunter Several by Edge if not most Several by Orton
Even The Rock
They all just have too many reigns for them to all be memorable

The Fiend is a 2 time Universial Champion. And done f*** all with the title on both occasions.
That's crazy to me.

I always forget that Roman won the title from Bray after a week long title run where Roman just went off and never interacted with the man again.

I always forget that Roman won the title from Bray after a week long title run where Roman just went off and never interacted with the man again. The fact that the end of that reign kicked off the longest title reign of modern times is why it should not be dismissed as forgettable.

In an era where multiple people on the roster are 4-16 time World champions, I'd say a lot of the reigns?

He was defending the title in the second match on Smackdown against the likes of Hardcore Holly and Prince Albert. How the hell was that ever going to get him over?
