The match is self was very good, but all I could think of after the match was that the rumors of Santana and Ortiz having a falling out were true. Maybe reading too much into things but... 1)He didn't come out with Ortiz 2)When he did come out for the brawls he seemed to be going through the motions. 3)Almost no focus was put on him in either segment he was in. Almost looked like a case of both sides are done and we're just gonna finish up the dates. I didn't know they had problems with each other, it was weird that only Kingston was in the ring with Ortiz post-match but didn't think too much of it. I figured Santana was brawling with 2.0 in the crowd or something.

In the contract thread it was brought up that there are rumors that Santana is unhappy in his current spot and that he and Ortiz have had a falling out recently. Could all just be rumors and nothing, but last night was the first time I really looked and said "huh, something is off here"

Santana had previously tweeted a countdown to September 1st, which is supposedly his contract end date. He’s also been very proactive on taking indie dates as a singles competitor for months now.

That match/segment was awesome. Ortiz came off so cool shaving his own head. Even BLEEDING because of it. That’s a tough SOB

First off, match was good and Ortiz definitely came off as a badass even in defeat.
Having said that, it's a damn shame if he and Santana really did have a falling out, and if Santana is gone in a couple months then not giving Proud and Powerful even a brief tag title run is one of AEW's biggest missed opportunities. They're fine as singles guys but are a legit great tag team; their feud with Best Friends (which is another team AEW absolutely did not use to the best of their ability and is seemingly done) carried some of those pandemic-era Dynamites.

It’s a huge mistake if they let Santana slip. Dude has superstar written all over him.
