Some songs are huge hits that even reach the top of the charts and then are completely forgotten by the next year.
Then you have songs from the 50s,60s, 70s, etc.. that are still getting played at parties/weddings, on oldies radio stations, showing up in commercials/movies and just overall remain in the public
conscious well after they were originally released
My 2 Guesses (Language Warning)
if you happen to be at a bar/party/social event that happens be taking place on a Tuesday this song should be mandatory to play. Actually played this song at my wedding that was on a tuesday for some reason
The Chorus to this song is just too powerful to not sing along to and it sounds like it could be the soundtrack to a zombie apocalypse movie in the next 20 years.
*For the purpose of this post we'll consider the last 15 years as "recent"

Some of the songs by Adele are already at the “classic” stage despite being released ten years or so. If I had to pick one, I’d say Someone Like You.
Chasing Cars by Snow Patrol. I don’t know if it’s less than fifteen years old but if not, it’s pretty close. You still hear it frequently years later.
I can see Underneath the Tree by Kelly Clarkson becoming a staple of Christmas songs in the UK. It has that sound of a classic Christmas song from the past and easily fits alongside the usual Christmas records.

“Driver’s License” by Olivia Rodrigo, “Blank Space” by Taylor Swift, and “Levitating” by Dua Lipa.
They are older than 15 years, but “Mr. Brightside” and “Seven Nation Army” are classic rock songs now. “Ho Hey” by The Lumineers, “Feel it Still” by Portugal, The Man, And “High Hopes” by Panic! At The Disco feel like they are going to break through from the rock side.
Agreed about “Underneath the Tree” for Christmas. I think “Candy Cane Lane” by Sia could too in the long run.

That's gonna still be getting played. Yeah, given the subject matter, unfortunately "Pumped Up Kicks" will be around for awhile. I assume you're disqualifying "Blinding Lights" in songs by The Weeknd. |

As far as mainstream is concerned, I have zero knowledge of anything contemporary. So if a hit song from today blows up again in another 20 years, I probably wouldn't recognize it.

I suspect that I haven't been in touch with mainstream in quite some time. Of all the songs from Encanto that I suspected would be a breakout, 'We don't talk about Bruno' would probably have been one of the lower ones on my list and I was completely wrong there. That said, I feel like Raise Your Glass by Pink will be considered a classic at some point.
I wanna say Dance Apocalyptic by Janelle Monae will be but I've no idea if it's big enough.

I genuinely couldn't name you a mainstream hit if I tried. That's not me trying to be Mr. T00 KeWl 4 Sk00l, I just stopped paying attention to a lot of it because of how bad it is. I genuinely cannot think of a song that has been released in the last ten years that I think, "Hey, that one is going to be a classic/stand the test of time."
I know the album is 16 (!!) now, but the last 'mainstream' album I heard that really blew me away and really made me think I was listening to something special was Back to Black by Amy Winehouse. So any of the singles on that, especially the title track.
