My 2 favorite wrestlers of all time had one match ever. Mankind vs Bret Hart happened once and it was on an episode of Shotgun Saturday Night of all places.

Hulk Hogan vs. Steve Austin only ever faced each other in the tag match with Stone Cold and Rock vs. the nWo on Raw before X8 (and they barely had any contact in the match to boot).

I kno they technically wrestled on a Velocity episode, when Bryan was in ROH.
BUT Cena and Daniel Bryan only had the one real high profile Summerslam main event. They never had a rematch.

I'm pretty sure Jericho only faced Taker on one occasion. A Smackdown in 2009 or 2010.

Didn’t Randy Savage and Curt Hennig only wrestle once one on one. They were also on opposing sides in a tag match but for those two to have only squared off in singles once is crazy to me.

Hulk Hogan vs. Shawn Michaels from Summerslam 2005 and with Triple H at Backlash 2002 were one and done if I'm not mistaken.

Ric Flair VS Antonio Inoki at Collision In Korea. I had to check to see how many times Inoki wrestled against Randy Savage... apparently never. Not even in a tag match. But he did wrestle Randy's father Angelo Poffo once, in 1968. (according to Wrestlingdata.com) Inoki did wrestle Nick Bockwinkel several times in tag matches but never one-on-one.

It's a shame, I think one or both of them were hurt, the match was being used to further Mick's feud with Owen, and the Shotgun ring was that shitty tiny one, so the match was nowhere near what it could have or should have been. Makes me really wish the two had gotten something more akin to the "Mind Games" classic Mick had with Shawn.

I guess the one time it'd have been all that possible would have been when the WWF was doing some work with Japan, only, it was Super World Sports, where he wrestled Tenryu. That's when he was "retired" and had the opportunity, but by the time he was in WCW and WCW was doing some work with NJPW, Inoki was winding his career down and selective about what matches he was taking. It sucks, but I do figure that for Inoki's coming to the States in a rare appearance, Regal made more sense because he could lose to Inoki, something I doubt WCW was keen to have Savage do. (Historically, Savage himself would have probably been fine with it. As far as top guys go, he had his vices, but he was willing to lose from time to time.)

You know there was no way in hell Triple H wasn't going to get that win back. Nobody beats the son-in-law without him getting his win back. Not even BROTHER!!!!

And in a triple threat tag match around that same time on Smackdown. But as far as I remember it was the only 1 on 1 match between the two.

The only time I ever even saw the match was during the WWE C.O.D. days. They had it up as a loosie one month. I assume if Bret would have stayed into 98 they would have had a pretty amazing feud at some point.

RVD vs HBK. During Shawn's very brief WHC reign on Raw in late 2002.
Seems like 2002 was a breeding ground for these random one-off dream matches.

Probably, yeah, since even without the power vacuum left when Bret exited, Mankind was still fairly strongly pushed before it, and Bret personally really likes Mick, so it's a given it would have eventually happened for a PPV.
