I actually think she has been connecting with her current gimmick That Sailor Moon gimmick is going to work to get her over akin to Nicki ASH. It'll work as a face with kids of a certain age, but gimps in the audience will forget about kids wanting to enjoy wrestling as well and shit all over it. The biggest problem with Nikki ASH wasn't the hero schtick... it was she was treated like a loser. She only won via rollup... and when she got the title (Before the gimmick really had any traction), she lost it back immediately and it was made clear that she was a losing loser that lost...

Oh sure, they basically did exactly the same thing with Sarray with the new gimmick in NXT. WWE seems to have no idea how to book an undercard face.....or a mid card face.....or even a main event face anymore.

The Nikki gimmick was also handicapped by just... Being really goddamn lame. There's nothing wrong with a superhero gimmick, the Hurricane is headlining a DLC pack 20 years later for a reason, but between the clunky-ass name, continually insisting she isn't really a superhero, the tacky costume, and the overall presentation of her like they've missed the past 40 years of superhero culture the whole thing just came off like something even five-year-olds would think was lame.

I feel like if there’s an embodiment of how much the people in charge don’t have their finger on the pulse, it’s how Nikki ASH has been booked.

They might as well just keep her there as they clearly don't have a place for her on 2.0. I thought they maybe had something with the Chase U stuff but then they basically gave her spot to Thea Hail instead.

She just isn't suited for WWE so I can't understand why they just don't let her go as it's clear she isn't wanted.

They could've worked as a face tag team since they need those. Would've been a good way to ease Thea in as well. However I guess they felt they couldn't have more then one women in the group for some reason.

I think they see big things in Thea, because she's super young still and legitimately just graduated from high school. They likely want to give her a very strong push right out of the gate, even though it is almost certainly an incredibly bad idea. I also don't think NXT 2.0 fans actually really like Sarray. Whenever she gets TV time, she almost immediately gets attacked by the insane diva stans on social media.

I think the problem with Thea is they are already pushing Cora Jade and Roxanne Perez who are also both very young and are also doing the girl next door white meat babyface deal. I could be wrong but I don't see her getting a big push out of the gates. I think she's someone who they see as more of a project. I can see her kind of being like Liv Morgan where they'll gradually give her more of role as the years go on if she shows improvement. With how young she is there's no hurry. I watched her match on Level Up and at the moment there's very little there right now. She can do the basics alright and that's about it.
