Doesn't matter. I think it's time we accept that our view of the product is one of a vocal minority. Clearly, WWE has fine-tuned its audience to the point of real-life sex scandals, horrible treatment of workers, Talent leaving, taking blood money et al has and will continue to generate them better ratings and more money. I would go as far as saying WWE could openly promote a memorial tournament based on Chris Benoit and it would go over. Trust me, I wish more than anyone that for once, just once something would hit Vince in the pockets, but it won't.

I'm not sure why I bother with wrestling any more I quit WWE pretty much entirely and am much happier about wrestling. Funny thing, it becomes even more unwatchable once it is no longer routine. They could put on the best product ever from an in ring perspective and the production style would still make it intolerable for me It’s a shame it does so much better than AEW, but it’s just the Walmart, McDonalds, or Michael Bay movies of wrestling. 🤷♂️

This has been the most watchable last 2 1/2 or 3 weeks of WWE programming for me since I came back to it in 2011. There are still things that I dislike, but there's a lot going on that I find interesting and the shows have been a breeze to get through (even Raw). Weird feeling.

The fact that the second hour was the peak makes me think that the Ezekiel saga has become a legit draw LMAO RAW goes over 3 million for Elrod. I actually shut it off after that segment so it worked for me, lol. As silly as the gimmick is, I love it.

RAW has been more enjoyable recently. SmackDown hasn't been as fun but it's been through worse patches. It's nice to see, hoping it lasts for a while creatively speaking.

What I meant is that despite AEW having a constant track record of learning from its mistakes, trying to give fans what they ask for, being pretty quick to ax toxic wrestlers, and having an open partnership with various companies. It seems like their ratings are in a holding pattern while WWE seems to be flourishing greatly despite it's myriad of issues

It seems like their ratings are in a holding pattern while WWE seems to be flourishing greatly despite it's myriad of issues I think in part you just have habit and recognisability. For the last 20 years, outside of a small section of wrestling fans, Pro Wrestling = WWE and WWE = Vince McMahon. WWE has homogenised their product to the point you can dip in and out at any point, or just catch a section of any show and know exactly what is going on because the announcers repeat it 5 times every match. That makes it easy to watch and brings it in line with just about any other soap opera. AEW likes to put on a great show, but is utterly unforgiving to anyone who doesnt already know who the guys they are pushing are, or wont research the importance of random people they bring through the Forbidden Door. Awesome for some fans, alienating for another set. WWE is mainstream now. Like a regular sports team, like a regular studio, like any other big business. And people will find ways to ignore anything if they enjoy it and it's part of their life. If they didnt, Disney would have been hurt more by supporting the anti-LGBT legislation it did, Amazon would be hurt more by their workers rights issues, Activision wouldn't still have some of the biggest games on the market. For a lot of people, the action of being angry and cutting something out, knowing many others wont, just isnt worth the loss in the end. All you can do is what is best for YOU. Don't worry about anyone else, don't keep investing, be it as a watcher or critic at arms length, in something that makes you feel shit. It just isn't worth it.

I'm enjoying WWE for the first time in ages (outside black and gold nxt which I freaking loved) Still no 1999 WWF, and never will be must see again like then to ME. But still I'm sorta liking it right now.

I personality watch both AEW & WWE. I like things from both. But AEW is missing something to me. IDK what honestly. They have an insane roster, but sometimes it just feels... like they try to hard? Idk
Glad time shows are still getting good ratings without Cody.

I also like both WWE & AEW and going to Summerslam next month.
As for WWE, I don't really watch the full Raw shows anymore as it's easier to catch Smackdown on Fridays.
For AEW, I still like it but after Double or Nothing I've not been as invested in the product going into the AEW/NJPW show.

But still I'm sorta liking it right now. Yeah, it's not exactly must see, but the pacing of the shows being much better and things like the KO/Ezekiel saga, Liv and Shotzi being on TV every week (even though Shotzi should be a face), Seth and Becky's character work, Goontah as IC Champ, and Lashley being the man have been great. I'm also glad they're at least attempting to build new stars in guys like Moss, Theory, and Veer even if I'm entirely digging what they're doing.
