...But I would like to.
Right now, all I'm seeing is a bug eyed dude yelling at me in a weird accent while his buddy awkwardly fidgets with his suspenders. I know there's more to the gimmick, mainly due the amount of times they have been brought up over the years. I'm actually thinking this is another Danhausen situation, where knowing their pre-AEW work is key.
Could yinz point me in the right direction? I'd love for all of this to make some sense.

2.0 have always been like this, but their energy IS a major selling point. They've been tag partners from the beginning, even before they were wrestlers, they were just best friends along with Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn up in Canada. They have an amazing aura as heels and as faces, just classic tag team delivery in their promos.
Allow me to show you some of their amazing work
There was also the time that 2.0 in the midst of a huge losing streak pulled an Ezekiel, and pretended to be an entirely new team called The Badd Boys, rough and tumble bikers, and everyone bought in until their inevitable face turn reveal and ascension to 3.0 in this legendary promo
They're just really contagiously fun, I recommend their Youtube show as well, but here's another fun one from them as faces

So... YOU WANNA TASTE?!
They're basically goofballs who are good veteran hands in the ring that everyone probably likes. Can work as fun, participatory babyfaces or uber-annoying, oblivious heels.
Imagine Strike Force doing Road Warrior promos while being booked like Too Cool. That's Big Magic and Cool Ang'!

Yeah, as pretty much everyone stated. What you see is what you get with them.
They're big high energy goofballs... either in on the joke as faces or well...
As Heels they are basically the wrestling equivalent of Bulk and Skull from Power Rangers.
also... remember BOOYAH! ends the promo.
(side note: I do miss the Booyah elbow drop)

Mackenzie Mitchell still wants to know why they are yelling at her.

They're the only two I've seen be actually on purpose entertaining and not in a so bad it's good way at a Control Your Narrative show.

To be honest I can't f***ing stand them. Though it's kind of less thinking they're actively awful and more just finding them wildly mediocre yet extremely overexposed.

Absolutely perfect team that can takes losses as required with no impact on their threat level.
Also Matt Maynard is a personal favourite due to the fact he could cut an in ring promo without a mic and everyone would still hear every word.
DO YOU WANNA TASTE BLONDIE

Thank you for bringing that up. I know it's not nice to say, but Menard's eyes always bugging out just... *shudders*

The longer haired guy acts like he got into TK's coke stash (and also has weird charisma, and a lot of confidence on the mic).
The shorter haired guy does his best to mimic the longer haired guy to the best of his limited promo and charismatic ability.

I mean sure it's a lot of tits/ass but if you can get past that, it's...oh you mean the tag team...

This thread made me realize that they talk like that because they're Canadian.
I always thought they were from New York or NJ or something
Either way they amuse the hell out of me.

Honestly, I wasn't a huge fan of Everrise in NXT.... When they got to AEW, I actually started liking them. Like the Young Bucks... they are perfect douchebag heels. They add to it by acting like followers in JAS which makes them even better, IMO.

The one guy acts like he's on coke, and that's an energy that is sorely missed in professional wrestling.

They're goobers..goober... and I mean that in an endearing way. They get over by being dorks and punching bags. Something that is missed in wrestling today

I love them because they're fun heels (that can be dangerous) and I think that's sorely lacking today.
